Chapter 3 - Chapter 2.1 : Start Making Games!!

Actually, creating games wasn't something unfamiliar to Uchiha Kai. Before he hit the "jackpot" and ended up crossing into this world, Uchiha Kai worked as a game designer—often derided as one of those "money-grubbing developers" by countless players.

He had participated in the development of several cash-grab mobile games with recycled assets, the kind of games that deserved every ounce of scorn from players.

After all, making a living isn't shameful.

Of course, ideals were still a thing. He had always dreamed of creating a world-class game, something truly legendary.

If he had gained this artificial intelligence (or "artificial idiot") system before crossing over, Uchiha Kai would have laughed himself awake in his sleep.

He would've gone full-on inspirational mode, preparing to "punch MiHoYo, kick Tencent, and storm NetEase," leading China's gaming industry to sweep the global market with a cheat-like life story.

Unfortunately, the world doesn't operate according to one's whims. So now, all Uchiha Kai could do was reminisce about that lost youth.

And then, he began making a game.

Although he felt that the rewards promised by the game development system would likely be of little use in the shinobi world... what if?

What if the rewards turned out to be genuinely useful?

With that hope in mind, Uchiha Kai decided to give the newbie task a try, just to see if he could get something worthwhile out of it.

Immersing his consciousness entirely into the mental world constructed using the Sharingan as a platform, Uchiha Kai started by programming a game development software based on the system's provided skills.

This wasn't particularly difficult. With the operation methods of a mental network and a biological computer, many functionalities could be completed with just imagination and thought.

Game development software, after all, was a common thing on Earth. Some simple tools for game creation were easy to replicate and only required a few key lines of code to put together.

Of course, creating top-tier game engines was a whole other story. For instance, the legendary Unreal Engine was a comprehensive game development tool that far surpassed those basic game creation software tools.

But Uchiha Kai didn't need something so advanced. In fact, by using the Sharingan as a platform and relying on the shinobi world's unique abilities to support a mental network-style game creation process, he didn't need cutting-edge hardware to produce stunningly realistic scenes.

After about half an hour, the game development software, which Uchiha Kai named My World 1.0, was complete.

The functionality was crude and simple—essentially allowing the creation of basic scenes, setting up NPCs and monsters, or even creating some traps.

If such a game-making tool existed on Earth, it would likely be a pixel-art-level programming software.

However, combined with the Sharingan, genjutsu, and the system's game development capabilities, what Uchiha Kai saw through his eyes was an incredibly realistic world.

In one glance, he beheld an expansive and perfectly level grassland stretching to meet the horizon under the sky. Each blade of grass beneath his feet appeared vividly real, swaying in the breeze.

The gentle wind brushing against him made Uchiha Kai feel as though he were truly standing on a vast plain.

As people from his past life would say, "I can't even tell if this is reality or an illusion anymore."

"It actually worked!"

Uchiha Kai was thrilled. He had only tried it on a whim, but it actually succeeded.

The system's black-tech capabilities had created an unbelievable synergy with the "specialties" of the ninja world. The resulting "graphics" were so stunning that if they were on Earth, they'd require burning through massive amounts of funds and countless GPUs just to achieve a similar cinematic effect.

And yet, this wasn't just some movie-like special effect—it was a fully immersive experience engaging all five senses, something far beyond anything achievable by conventional technology.

Everything he saw could be seamlessly packaged into a game, allowing "players" to experience it firsthand.

Without a doubt, such a game creation platform would be the ultimate dream tool for game developers everywhere.

The only drawback was that it consumed a lot of Uchiha Kai's chakra. After all, creating this mental realm required activating the Sharingan, which constantly drained both mental energy and chakra.

Even though Uchiha clan members didn't experience the same debilitating side effects as someone like Kakashi, they couldn't keep their Sharingan activated indefinitely.

For instance, Uchiha Kai was already feeling tired.

As a standard Chūnin-level shinobi, Uchiha Kai had chakra reserves typical for his rank—no matter how hard he trained, his chakra never increased beyond that limit.

In the ninja world, talent and bloodlines were cruel and uncompromising. At eighteen years old, after training diligently for fourteen of those years, Uchiha Kai had come to fully accept this reality.

With his current chakra reserves, Uchiha Kai could maintain his Sharingan for about seventy minutes if used solely for game creation, as this was the least taxing activity.

If Uchiha Kai were to activate the Sharingan in battle, just throwing a few moderately chakra-intensive B-rank jutsu would quickly deplete his chakra reserves.

Now, after spending half an hour tinkering with the game creation tool, Uchiha Kai had to hurry up and start making the game.

Fortunately, as a former game developer, his proficiency and techniques in game development were not a concern.

Even though it had been eighteen years, it wasn't an issue—perhaps due to the peculiarities of his transmigration, all his memories from his previous life before his death were vividly intact.

Everything he remembered before his death was etched into his mind after his transmigration. Even after eighteen years, those memories remained as sharp as ever.
