Chapter 7 - Chapter 4.1 : It was still fun, wasn’t it??

Minato Namikaze was not a cowardly ninja. On the contrary, he possessed courage and noble qualities that many other ninjas lacked.

As an elite Jonin of Konoha, he was already on the verge of reaching the level of Kage at only 19 years old.

According to historical development, once Minato reached the true level of Kage, he would quickly surpass the legendary Sannin, becoming the undisputed leader of Konoha's younger generation.

His strength would make him a super weapon capable of changing the course of the Third Great Ninja War.

These legendary stories proved that Minato Namikaze was a true genius of the ninja world, with both courage and talent.

However…

The scene unfolding before him now truly stunned Minato, as it was something he had never encountered before—an eerie, hellish world.

Moreover, after entering this game world, Minato felt his body was incredibly weak, as if over 90% of his power had vanished, leaving him as a powerless, fragile version of himself.

This drastic drop in strength naturally led to a sense of unease within him. Combined with the hellish scenery created by Uchiha Kai, it was no wonder Minato was a little shaken.

But, this was Minato Namikaze, and despite everything, he quickly regained his composure and asked, "Kai, are you there?"

Uchiha Kai's voice immediately responded, "I can hear you, Minato. How do you feel? I mean, how real does this game world feel to you?"

Minato thought for a moment, then clenched his fist and checked his body. After a brief pause, he replied, "It feels pretty real. Although I can still sense some artificial elements, it's much more genuine than the dream-like illusion created by typical genjutsu."

Hearing this, Uchiha Kai, who was watching everything from the god's-eye view in the game world, nodded. "I see. So, it's not real enough? It still needs some optimization."

Minato replied, "Well, actually, I think if this is just a game, it doesn't need to be that real…"

Uchiha Kai nodded again. "Yeah, that's true. Even in virtual reality games, the goal is not to make it too real, to prevent players from losing track of what's real and what's virtual."

"But, I have great confidence in the mental and physical strength of the shinobi, so I think striving for ultimate realism is the best approach."

Minato Namikaze: "…Although I don't know what is virtual reality game you're talking about, not all ninjas in the shinobi world are strong."

Uchiha Kai: "It's fine, we can always make two versions—one for the ninjas that's ultra-realistic, and another for regular people that's a bit more fictional."

Minato Namikaze: "…"

For some reason, Minato felt a strong sense of malice from Kai's words, like there was a twisted desire for revenge hidden behind them.

Uh, it must be just his imagination, right? After all, Kai is a kind person, even though he sometimes has a dark sense of humor, he's definitely not a bad person.

Thinking this, Minato asked again: "By the way, Kai, why do I feel so weak? Is it because of this illusionary world?"

Instead of answering directly, Kai said, "The window on your right can act as a mirror. Take a look at yourself."

Upon hearing this, Minato turned to his right and saw a window in the room. Sure enough, the glass reflected his current appearance.

However, the person in the reflection wasn't the real Minato Namikaze, but a man wearing a Konoha headband and a Konoha ninja vest, his clothes torn and dirty, with a scruffy beard. He radiated a sense of decay and indecisiveness.

Staring at this scene, Minato was shocked: "Did I... become someone else?"

Uchiha Kai: "Yes, didn't I say this is a game? Just like the hero and villain games we used to play when we were kids. Now, you're playing the role of a Konoha ninja who just returned from the battlefield."

"The character is one I created, not someone from Konoha, just a virtual character."

"As the game's task suggests, your task is to play this role and find your way home in this world."

Minato Namikaze nodded in realization: "I see now. I understand."

After speaking, he became eager to try it out. After all, in the ninja world, where entertainment culture is scarce, modern Earth's entertainment games were an overwhelming leap in comparison.

Not to mention, the illusion-based game created by Uchiha Kai was cutting-edge technology, even by Earth's standards.

Although Minato Namikaze was a genius, having already become a ninja and completed many missions, earning the title of a mature and talented shinobi, he was still only an eighteen-year-old boy.

On Earth, he would be like a recent high school graduate, at the age where one is full of youthful energy and love for play.

The reason he hadn't played before was because it wasn't appropriate, and there was no entertainment in the ninja world. So, Minato had to be the 'mature elite shinobi of Konoha.'

But now, with an interesting game in front of him, and knowing that he was helping a friend without any psychological burden, even Minato couldn't suppress his inner excitement and anticipation.

Even if the graphics and scenes were a bit too intense and eerie, it was still fun, wasn't it?

With that thought in mind, Minato started moving forward.
