Chapter 4 - Chapter 2.2 : First Game!!

Of course, this only applied to the memories from before his death. His level of knowledge was equivalent to that of a typical IT worker in his previous world, far from the intellectual heights he reached during his peak academic performance in high school.

Thankfully, while his years of experience as an overworked game developer had little direct application in the shinobi world, it had helped Uchiha Kai maintain his focus.

Even when his cursed Uchiha bloodline constantly pushed him to the brink of mental collapse, he never lost himself. Instead, he consistently preserved a positive mindset.

And now, with the opportunity to create a game, the wisdom he had accumulated as a "dog developer" in his previous life finally had a chance to shine.

In his past life as a game developer, Uchiha Kai had played countless games, even dabbling in many obscure ones. With his memories intact, he vividly recalled all the details of those games.

Although he wasn't planning to blatantly copy any particular game, the gaming industry was notorious for its "creative borrowing." Most so-called innovative or classic games had actually borrowed their ideas from lesser-known games.

The difference was that larger companies would refine and integrate these ideas into their own polished products, turning them into signature creations.

As a seasoned game developer, Uchiha Kai knew all the tricks of the trade.

However, he wasn't aiming to create a groundbreaking game. His goal was much simpler: to throw together a small game to fulfill the system's task and see what kind of reward he could earn.

With this in mind, and already having decided on the game concept, Uchiha Kai summoned the tool panel.

In his field of vision, a transparent panel appeared, displaying various assets such as flowers, trees, rocks, buildings, and NPC models—all pre-configured elements he had set up in advance.

All Uchiha Kai needed to do was use these elements to arrange some scenes according to his initial plan, add some NPCs and monsters to enable "interactions" with players, and the mini-game would be complete.

But as he finished part of the creation process, a troubling thought crossed his mind.

What if the system's reward turned out to be something utterly useless in the shinobi world? If that were the case, was all his effort to complete the task really worth it?

In an instant, a sense of apprehension surged within him.

It was natural, after all—Uchiha Kai had faced disappointment too many times.

This godforsaken reincarnation had thrown him into the Uchiha clan, a clan destined to be annihilated by that weasel Itachi in the future.

Being reborn as an Uchiha was bad enough, but he wasn't even part of the main branch. His bloodline was even diluted, his talents mediocre.

Fine, he could accept that. Hard work makes up for shortcomings, right? Heaven rewards diligence, doesn't it? Surely, through relentless effort, he could achieve something.

But no.

Reality slapped him with a brutal truth: no matter how desperately he trained, he was locked at the level of an average Chūnin.

The fiery narratives of surpassing oneself through sheer determination were reserved for the chosen few destined to be protagonists.

As for him?

He was nothing but a supporting character, condemned to watch the geniuses around him create their legends.

Damn it all.

This cursed world was utterly ridiculous!

He was a transmigrator, and yet he'd been handed the script of a nobody!

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. And the angrier he became, the more he thought about it. A deep resentment welled up inside him. Honestly, creating a lighthearted little game was too kind for such a cruel world.

This world, so unkind to ordinary people, deserved nothing less than retaliation!

Uchiha Kai wasn't going to turn into some bloodthirsty maniac, but crafting a few trolling, society-revenge games?

Letting others experience a fraction of his frustration?

That was tempting. Just imagining players raging at his games filled him with an odd, unexplainable sense of joy.

At that moment, Uchiha Kai had an epiphany.

So this was it. This cursed shinobi world had driven him to become a psychopath!

What's that?

Hardly anyone in the entire ninja world was mentally stable to begin with?

Well then, no problem.

Having finished his internal monologue, Uchiha Kai abandoned his original plans. With a shift in mindset, the game he was working on took a darker, more sinister turn.

And as he continued its development, a grin crept across his face—one harder to suppress than an AK's recoil. His mood improved by the second.

Truly, bottling up frustration would only ruin a person. But once you found an outlet to vent it, everything became bearable again.

Kai made a decision: regardless of what rewards the system offered, he would share his finished games with others. Watching them break down in frustration would become his new source of happiness.

Thinking about it, Uchiha Kai couldn't help feeling a little excited.

Because of this excitement, he poured all his energy and focus into creating the mini-game. Without realizing it, he had completely exhausted both his mental strength and chakra reserves.

With sheer willpower, he forced himself to stay conscious, just long enough to finalize the game. He compressed, packaged, and stored it within his mental network, ensuring its completion before finally succumbing to exhaustion.

This was the final act of defiance from someone who, in the past, had suffered the pain of working overtime to redo plans after forgetting to save his work—a tragic plight of a hapless game designer!

And so, Uchiha Kai collapsed into unconsciousness.

Because of this, he missed the system's announcement of the reward for completing the game.
