Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: The strangest Encounter

Axels POV:

I had began my trek to school, I quickly looked at my watch. Fuck! I was going to be late. I had stayed up until 2 in the morning attempting to study for a quiz on my calculus exam and that had clearly taken a toll on me.

I probably looked haggard. I had dark circles under my eyes, my hair was an absolute mess, I looked terrible. And additionally the walk to school would have to be at least an hour long. Damnit!

Quickly after 20 minutes into my walk to school, I quickly noticed a figure lying down in the woods.

That was quite odd considering I had never encountered someone in these woods before, they were quite secluded.

As I got closer I almost gasped out loud. It was clearly not a human nor animal. He had a wolf-like head though he appeared to have a skull covering his face, or was it just part of his skin? I couldn't quite tell. He had a human-like body though completely covered in black colored fur and was quite muscular I noticed for he only had a thin cloak covering his body.

But still, what the fuck was it?! I had never seen a creature quite like this one.

I considered the possibility that he could be deceased. I cautiously neared closer and could hear shallow breathing. Ok, so not dead.

I wanted to wake him.

I hesitated before gently shaking his shoulder.

"H-hey, are you alright?" I asked.

He suddenly bolted awake with a sudden gasp. I jumped backwards, landing on my ass. I quickly hid behind a tree, hoping he wouldn't notice me.

His chest heaved and I noticed he had bright red eyes. So bright that I almost thought they were glowing. He then turned his head and seemed to be looking directly at me.

"I know you're hiding there behind the tree," he said slyly.

I hesitantly went out from my hiding space behind the tree.

"S-sorry, I got a bit frightened when I saw you wake up. You aren't..."

"Do you mean mortal? no, of course I am not a mortal like yourself," he said. I noticed he had a very low and gravely voice.

He then looked like he was about to begin walking but he grunted in pain sinking to his knees. His leg was clearly broken. He winced in pain.

"You're hurt, let me help you," I said.

When I stepped closer to him, he growled.

"Don't touch me!" He snapped.

He again, tried to get onto his feet but was making little progress.

"I may need some assistance, can you... please help?" he said sighing.

"O-okay, yes,"

He put his arm on my shoulder and I was barely able to hold him up without falling. His fur was surprisingly soft.

"Oh yeah, I forgot about to ask about your name," I said

"My name is Shadow," he said without farther explanation.

"C-cool, I'm Axel,"

"I don't care," he snapped

After about 20 minutes, we barely made it back to my house.

The walk was silent, he didn't say anything and I was too afraid and still in a bit of shock to say anything.

Luckily my parents weren't home, they weren't home very often, I didn't have any knowing of where they would go for weeks at a time without telling me.

Once we entered my house, I quickly said, "wait here, I think there's some supplies for your leg somewhere upstairs, umm... just wait here," I said before running upstairs.

Even though I was still very confused as to what he was and what kind of creature I had just let into my home, I went into my parents closet in their room where there was a first aid kit I believed.

When I walked back downstairs, he was still standing at the base of the steps, looking very confused.

"Uhh, s-so I have some suplies, umm, for your leg if you'll let me,"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Fine,"

From my health class at school, I knew that I had to splint his leg and put a cast, though it was quite difficult when he was staring at me scrutinizingly.

"Thank you, I'm great full that you are helping me," shadow said.

"Y-yeah, it's fine. Also, I know this might be personal, but... you clearly aren't a human, so what are you exactly.

Shadows ears perked up for a moment.

"I'm afraid I'm not authorized to say so," he told me.

"Can I ask why?"

"Listen mortal, just because you are helping me doesn't mean I can tell you all of this,"

"Alright, sorry I asked. And what do you mean mortal?"

"Your kind only live about 80 years, my species lives on average about 10,000 years."

What the hell. "So then how old are you right now?"

"Around 2,570 years old, my kind don't really keep track of our age."

That was weird as hell, and 2,570 years old?! I couldn't quite wrap my head around just how long that was.

When I looked at the clock hanging off the wall, it said it was 7at night. I should probably get dinner, after all, I would have a lot of work to deal with at school tomorrow.

"Well, I guess you can make yourself feel at home, but just don't go into mine or my parents room," I said gesturing towards the said rooms.

Shadow nodded. Suddenly it seemed like black smoke surrounded shadow and he disappeared. What the hell?! Did he just teleport?! I supposed there was still much I didn't know.

I went downstairs, I could deal with this whole situation later.

I went and opened the freezer to try to make a microwave pizza, I noticed two of them were missing, Shadow could at least tell me when taking stuff.

I quickly ate before taking a shower. I needed to decompress, maybe all the stress of school had made me imagine this whole stupid situation.

When I had put on my pajamas, I walked back to my room, only to see Shadow on my laptop.

"Hey! What are you doing?!" I yelled.

"What is this magical device you have here? I have never seen anything quite like it."

"It's a laptop, my laptop. Which means you can't use it!" I snapped.

Shadow still didn't seem to understand put put the laptop back on the desk.

"And so what are these?," Shadow asked me, walking to my bookshelf. "They look quite like the scrolls I used to have."

Scrolls?! What the fuck was he talking about?

"Those are book, I guess you can read them, j-just don't break them."

Shadow didn't seem to be paying attention to what I was saying.

I was quite tired, I needed to go to bed. This whole encounter had really drained my energy.
