At around 5pm, Julia texted me saying she would be at my home in around 20 minutes to drive me to the party since I didn't have my own car. My parents definitely didn't trust me enough to give me one.
About 29 minutes later, I first made sure that Shadow wasn't ruining something before heading out, Julia was already waiting for me in her car.
"Hey Axel, are you ready for this?"
"I-I guess so."
I must have looked quite nervous because she said "it's going to be okay Axel! I'll be there, stop worrying so much!"
"I-I know, it's just that I've never gone to a party before and I really don't know what to expect."
"It'll be fine," Julia reussured me.
We finally got to where I supposed was Julia's friends house. It was actually quite a small house, only appearing to be one floor.
When I stepped out of the car I could already hear loud music protruding from the house. I was already beginning to have second thoughts about this.
The door was already unlocked and when we entered the house, there was loud music coming from the speaker and what looked like over 100 people crowded into this small house.
Julia instantly spotted the friend who invited her. They started talking about something, I had no idea what since everything was so loud in this environment.
"And who is this your brought over with you, boyfriend?" Her friend asked suddenly.
"Oh no! This is just my friend Axel."
"H-hi." I said nervously.
"Oh hello, I didn't know Julia had many friends other then me. I'm Hyrus by the way."
"Hello."
I probably sounded nervous out of my mind.
"Oh, by the way, one girl was able to make a fake ID, she brought wine." Hyrus told Julia.
"Oh fuck! Really?!"
"Yes, I have it over here."
He pulled out a few glass bottles of a strange liquid. It looked almost like water though it has a strange shade to it.
Julia instantly grabbed it and pored a glass.
"This is awesome, I always thought you would be too much of a pussy to let this happen." She said
"Well, people change. Oh does your friend want some of this?" Hyrus asked.
Oh shit. I had never drank any alcohol in my life.
"Oh, w-well, isn't th-that illegal or something.
"
"Oh my god. Your almost an adult, it doesn't fucking matter!" Julia snapped.
"Oh, okay, I guess I can, just not too much." I said, still unsure about all of this.
Julia got me some. It tasted disgusting. I saw Julia and Hyrus looking at me. Oh I didn't want to make myself look immature. I forced myself to Finnish the glass. By the end it didn't actually taste that bad.
I saw Julia and Hyrus talking about something about some scandal that happened on tik tok and they were both distracted.
I decided to have just one more glass of the wine.
I ended up having about 4. I felt horrible after the fourth one, and quite dizzy as well. I noticed Julia talking to some random guy and then they both walked to elsewhere in the house. I tried to call out for her but she was already gone.
Shit. I felt so nauseous in that moment I thought I might actually throw up.
I stood up off the chair on wobbling knees trying to find the bathroom, my stomach felt awful and I knew I was about to vomit.
I walked into the hallway, everything was so damn dizzy.
I braced myself on the wall. It's going to be fine, i reussured myself.
I was feeling worse and worse, seemingly by the second. It seemed like the house was in the middle of an earthquake with how dizzy I was at that point.
I found a doorknob. Finally, this must be it.
I opened the door. It wasn't the bathroom. It was a bedroom. Julia and that random guy she was talking to. They were passionately making out, seemingly unaware of my presence.
I slammed the door. I wanted to permanently erase that from my mind.
I finally found another doorknob. Thank god this was the bathroom. I suddenly felt a terrible wave of nausea and vomited in the toilet.
Tears were running down my cheeks. This was a really shitty decision I made, I should have never gone to this dumbass party.
After a few minutes, I felt a bit better but not by much.
I then, heard a knock at the door.
"Axel, are you in there?" It was Julia.
"C-can we please go home?" I said trying to keep my voice from shaking.
"Yeah, oh fuck I'm sorry, I shouldn't have forced you to go."
"I'm... I'm ok." I said.
We went into her car then, passing by the crowds of people in the house.
"Shit, Axel I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to let this happen, I'm sorry I made you do this."
"I'll be alright, just please can you take me back home?"
"Yeah."
Shadows POV:
Axel had come back home after about an hour, I didn't know these human parties were such short events though I supposed I didn't quite know anything about them or begin with.
When Axel opened the door, I immediately recognized that he didn't look alright. He barely kept his valence on his legs and his eyes looked unfocused.
He looked as if he were quite ill.
"Axel, are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm... I'm..."
He suddenly lost his balance, slamming into the wall and leaning onto it for balance.
I rushed over immediately and grabbed him by his shoulders.
"Oh, Axel, you look quite ill, are you sure you're alright?"
He mumbled something I couldn't quite make out.
I sighed. "Well you should get to bed, I don't know what's going on with you, but you should be well-rested for tomorrow.
"Yeah." He said quietly.
He then seemed to lose consciousness. I didn't know these human parties were so draining.
I considered what I should to with him. I didn't know how I felt about carrying him back to his room, that would be quite awkward.
Well... he wasn't awake so I supposed he wouldn't remember in the morning. I grabbed him in one arm by his back and used the other to hold him by the back of his knees, carefully carrying him to his bed, making sure I was moving thoughtfully enough that he wouldn't wake up.
I then placed him in bed, placing the blankets over him so he wouldn't get cold.
I supposed I should go to bed now as well, though it was only about 6pm, my species needed more rest than humans because of our magical capabilities.
I layed myself down on the other side of the bed next to Axel and peacefully drifted to sleep.
