Q sprinted around their dorm, her heart thundering in her chest as her bare feet slapped against the cool wood floor.
Apart from the fact that she had absolutely no idea where she needed to go or what she was supposed to wear, she was already late. And not just a little late. The sun's-halfway-up-the-damn-sky kind of late.
All her talk about wanting to do her best, about making this whole thing worth it, felt like a joke now. Her first day at RAPS, and here she was: a wrinkled, disheveled mess with nothing to show for it but a manual she hadn't even finished reading and a head full of frantic thoughts.
"Alright, alright, Q," she muttered, trying to calm herself as she burst into the bathroom. "Pull it together. You got this."
Her words didn't do much to stop the rising panic twisting her insides, but she didn't have time to dwell on it. She froze for a split second, staring at the room around her. It was nothing like home.
