Chapter 7 - Chapter 7: Safe Place

They were still running through the extremely dense forest, with tall, thick trees all around, which hides the sight of the main base. Fortunately, an observative guard with the nature of curiosity of a five-year-old named David wondered and pondered about the noise, trying to make sense of the chaotic sounds nearby. David's keen senses picked up on a faint rustling sound coming from a nearby bush, prompting him to investigate further. He slowly opened up the gate, trying to peep out. Suddenly, a group of 6-7 adults, 2 kids under the age of 12, and his closest friend, Arthur, ran past him, screaming, "SHUT THE GATE, LEST WE ALL DIE." David's heart raced as he quickly closed the gate, his mind filled with questions about what was happening. He could hear the panic in their voices and the urgency in their footsteps, fueling his own fear and curiosity. As he secured the gate, David couldn't help but wonder what danger lurked beyond those thick trees and why it threatened their lives.

The sound echoed through the air, causing everyone to freeze in their tracks. David's eyes widened as he realized that whatever was out there was much closer than he had anticipated. He exchanged a worried glance with Arthur, silently acknowledging the gravity of the situation. Soon after, David rallied himself, forcing himself to feel brave and courageous. He began with a scream, saying things like, "In the face of adversity, we find our strength and resilience. Together, we shall overcome the darkest of times. Courage is not the absence of fear but the triumph over it. Stand strong, for victory belongs to the brave." Arthur sighed with approval, his chest swelling with determination as David's words echoed in his mind, igniting a spark of resolve within him. They both locked eyes at one another in agreement.
