Chapter 4 - Growth and Mastery

Days blended together as Alexander trained tirelessly alongside his classmates. The academy's training grounds became a second home, where sweat and camaraderie forged unbreakable bonds.

Alexander's focus remained steadfast: enhance his Mana Manipulation and master the twin sabers, Moonflash. Each morning, he practiced Mana Transfer, circulating his energy through the sabers. His progress was steady, and his Mana Manipulation skill rose to Intermediate Tier.

"Congratulations, Alexander! You've increased your Mana capacity by 2." the System announced.

Instructor Lyrien's announcement sparked a mix of excitement and nerves.Alexander remained composed, his expression unreadable.

The class proceeded to a grand hall, where a massive stage dominated the center.

Lyrien explained, "Today, you'll face corrupted animals. These creatures have evolved beyond their natural forms, becoming monstrous versions of themselves."

The students exchanged eager glances.

"The challenge will progress from weakest to strongest." Lyrien continued. "The student with the most victories will receive a special reward."

A murmur of anticipation spread through the room.

Lyrien called out the first student, "Eryndor Thorne!"

Eryndor stepped forward, his confidence evident.

A dark-furred rabbit materialized on the stage, its eyes glowing with an otherworldly energy.

Eryndor drew his sword, swallowing hard.

The rabbit launched itself at Eryndor with incredible speed.

Panic set in, and Eryndor hastily conjured a rock barrier using his mana.

The rabbit dodged and counterattacked, striking Eryndor from the side.

The boy crumpled, defeated.

Next, Liam stepped forward, facing the same rabbit.

With a focused expression, Liam summoned a wave of fire, engulfing the rabbit.

The creature let out a pained squeal before dissipating.

Liam exhaled, relieved. But at the next moment another creature appeared. A black looking dog. The dog immediately set off. Attacking Liam and defeating him.

More students took their turns, some triumphing over the rabbit only to fall against the dog and those who passed the fog would fall against a massive, corrupted snake that emerged next.

Alexander watched intently, analyzing each battle.

His turn approached.

"Alexander Vale," Lyrien announced.

Alexander rose, his eyes locked on the stage.

The corrupted rabbit reappeared, its dark fur bristling.

Alexander drew Moonflash, his twin sabers shining.

The battle began.
