Miss Clark's class was the first one in the morning.
She glanced at the listless students below and said, "Wake up, the Chinese scores haven't come out yet, let's go over the answers."
With that, she projected the answers onto the computer screen and said, "Let's go over them."
"Wow!"
Miss Clark glanced at Dylan and said, "What are you shouting for? You didn't get them all right."
Dylan said, "Don't say it, but don't say it, I got them all right."
Miss Clark skeptically picked up his test paper and took a look, then said, "You did quite well this time, keep up the good work."
Dylan nodded and said, "Got it." He threw a grateful look at Ellie behind him.
Before Miss Clark could finish discussing half of the test, class was over.
"Teacher, are the Chinese scores out?" a student next to the podium asked.
Miss Clark said, "You guys are very eager this time, let me take a look." As soon as she opened her phone, several heads leaned over.
"They're out."
As soon as she spoke, many people crowded onto the podium. Miss Clark said, "Alright, alright, don't come up, I'll read them out."
"Teacher, teacher, take a look at Ellie's first."
"Teacher, look at Ellie's first."
Miss Clark frowned at them and said, "It's a strange request to look at someone else's instead of your own."
The student with the most advantageous location next to the podium was eager to grab the phone and see for himself. He urgently reminded Miss Clark, "Keep scrolling, it should be further down."
Miss Clark glared at him, then saw Ellie's name and said, "Ellie, Chinese 140."
"140? Chinese?"
"Wow, I've never seen anyone score 140 in Chinese."
"Wow, this must definitely be in the top ten of the grade, right?"
Daniel said, "Forget about the top ten of the grade, I think it's possible to be in the top three."
Miss Clark opened Ellie's answer sheet and said, "Next class, I'll project Ellie's answer sheet for you to see. She got all the multiple-choice questions right, lost nine points on the essay, and only one point in front."
"Damn, only one point in front?"
"Wow."
Miss Clark read a few more names, and the class bell rang.
The boy next to the podium said, "Teacher, don't go, no one is in this class."
Miss Clark said, "I have another class in the second period."
Seeing Mr. Johnson walk in, Miss Clark smiled at him, then picked up her things and left.
Mr. Johnson, who had been complimented all morning, couldn't stop smiling.
Standing on the podium, he said, "This is the first time someone in our class has made it into the top ten of the grade. Let's applaud and congratulate Ellie for ranking third in the grade."
Daniel clapped so hard his hands were about to break.
Mr. Johnson signaled for quiet, then said, "The class's score list is still being organized, and it will be printed out for everyone once it's done."
"Mr. Johnson, isn't this a slap in the face for Mr. Thompson? He said our class couldn't produce anyone in the top ten, and if we did, he would apologize. Not only did we produce someone in the top ten, but we also got full marks in English."
"That's right, that's right."
"Ellie's English is the highest in the whole school."
"Mr. Thompson must apologize!"
"Must apologize!"
Mr. Johnson was silent for a while, then said, "So you guys have been so focused on the scores since last night because of this?"
"Although we can't score that well, Ellie did, which counts for all of us in Class 17."
"It doesn't matter if he looks down on us, but he can't look down on you."
"He must apologize."
Mr. Johnson listened to the words below, feeling a bit teary-eyed. He said, "Actually, I don't care about what he said, I was just a bit angry that he said that about our class."
"Whether it's about our class or about you, it's not okay."
"Thanks to Ellie, we were able to let out this bad breath."
"Otherwise, we would have to take some bad measures."
Mr. Johnson looked at the students below, a big man couldn't help but tear up. He turned away to wipe his tears, then turned back and said, "Thank you all."
At the time when he quarreled with Mr. Thompson, he was very angry, but he forgot it after the quarrel and didn't take it to heart. He didn't expect that these kids actually remembered this matter.
Mr. Thompson heard that Class 12 produced a third in the grade. He was preparing lessons and got so angry that he broke his pen.
As long as he didn't admit what he said before, he wouldn't have to apologize.
But he underestimated the people in Class 17.
During the big break, two boys from Class 17 knocked on Mr. Thompson's current office door.
Daniel held the score list of Class 17 and handed it to Mr. Thompson, politely saying, "Mr. Thompson, this is our class's score list, take a look."
Mr. Thompson glanced at it and said, "I've seen it before, what else?"
"You won't forget what you said before, will you?"
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Daniel imitated his tone and repeated what he said before: "The best is, I can't stand this class for a day, if your class can have one in the top ten, I will apologize to you in front of the whole class, it's Mr. Thompson who was wrong."
For a moment, everyone in the office who knew about this matter couldn't help but hold back their laughter.
Mr. Thompson is proud and has a straightforward personality, and he has offended many people before.
Mr. Thompson wished he could tear Daniel's mouth apart. He snatched the score list from Daniel's hand and said, "I know, you don't need to remind me."
Daniel smiled brightly and said, "As long as you remember, Mr. Thompson, don't forget to fulfill your promise."
Mr. Thompson went to the original office with the score list, his face as ugly as if he had constipation for ten days. He walked silently next to Mr. Johnson and said, "I was wrong before, I apologize to you."
Mr. Johnson said, "You don't need to apologize to me, you should apologize to those kids in Class 17."
Mr. Thompson looked at Mr. Johnson and said, "Don't push your luck, I apologized to you, it's already giving you face."
"The best is, I can't stand this class for a day, if your class can have one in the top ten, I will apologize to you in front of the whole class, it's Mr. Thompson who was wrong."
"Oops, I didn't mean to click, won't Mr. Thompson be angry?" The female teacher opposite Mr. Johnson pretended to be surprised and covered her mouth, then she laughed and said, "I know Mr. Thompson is the most generous, he will definitely forgive me, right?"
Mr. Thompson finally went to Class 17 and said sorry with a sour face.
Daniel imitated Mr. Thompson's appearance in the office, and then imitated what the female teacher opposite Mr. Johnson just said. He said, "Mr. Thompson, won't you be angry? Hahahahahaha, I'm dying of laughter, I declare that she is my goddess from now on."
Class 17 was filled with laughter of "Hahahahaha."
Ellie also laughed along.
William said, "This time we owe it all to you, you are the great contributor."
Ellie raised a smile at him.
The girl's eyes were clear, a pair of eyes like fine amber, with long eyelashes, and she looked extremely beautiful when she smiled.
