Ellie looked up, and her gaze met William's.
She stared at William for a moment, then averted her eyes.
William noticed her ears turning slightly pink; little prude was indeed easily embarrassed.
The team dispersed on the spot.
Some of the boys from the class, holding basketballs, headed to the basketball court.
Aria sat down next to Ellie, looking at the bag in her hand, and said, "Are you going to deliver water later?"
"Mm-hmm." Ellie handed another bottle of drink to Aria.
"Thanks, Ellie." Aria took a few sips of water, feeling refreshed and revitalized. She said, "Our class and another class seem to be playing basketball together today. Shall we go watch?"
"Sure."
Aria looked at the two bottles of water left in her hand and said, "Why is there another one? For Sarah?"
Ellie obediently replied, "Yes, she gave me candy again today."
Sarah was indeed watching the basketball game in front of the fence. Ellie handed her the water at room temperature and said, "Here's yours."
Sarah took the water from her, somewhat surprised, and said, "Thanks, I was just about to go buy some water."
Ellie made a sound of acknowledgment, then stood beside her.
William glanced over and saw her delivering water to someone else.
Suddenly, it felt a bit glaring.
Little prude was indeed warm-hearted, bringing water for three people at once.
A guy passed the ball to William, and with a three-step layup, William threw the ball into the hoop.
The girls around screamed in excitement.
The young man seemed to be radiating light.
Sarah excitedly grabbed the net and said to Ellie, "Handsome, right?"
Ellie nodded and said, "Mm-hmm."
The leading guy from Class 20 gave a signal, and several of them started to target William. Daniel was hit hard by a guy next to him and fell to the ground.
William dodged a few people and scored a goal, then looked at Daniel and asked, "What's wrong?"
"William, they hit me."
A somewhat thin guy spoke up: "They hit me too, several times."
Another guy also chimed in: "Me too."
Upon hearing this, William's expression instantly turned cold. He said, "We agreed that Class 20 and Class 17 would just have a casual game, and then have a formal match in a few days. What do you mean by this?"
Hunt grinned and said, "William, it's basketball, minor bumps are normal."
William glanced at Daniel behind him; his leg and arm were scraped in the fall, and the scrapes were quite large. It seemed like his arm might be dislocated.
He said to Hao Ming, "Hao Ming, take him to the infirmary first."
Hao Ming helped Daniel up and asked, "Daniel, can you walk? Daniel."
Daniel winced in pain and said, "Damn it, Hao Ming, you asshole, it hurts like hell."
Hao Ming and another guy supported Daniel and left.
Hunt chuckled and said, "It was just a bump, William won't be angry, right?"
The other guys from Class 20 provoked William, but Hunt was not afraid. As a newcomer, he didn't understand why everyone at school was so afraid of William. He had never feared anyone at his previous school.
William looked like he didn't have much strength; he just looked a bit fierce.
Hunt wanted to say something more, but William directly kneed him in the stomach, then grabbed his collar and said, "I'm warning you, play basketball if you want to play, but don't try any dirty tricks under my nose."
Hunt's face turned as purple as a liver from pain. He rubbed his stomach and, taking advantage of William's inattention, raised his fist to fight back.
As soon as he threw a punch, William caught it. William twisted his hand, and his arm turned completely around.
Hunt winced in pain and said, "Let go, my arm is going to break."
William released his hand and then punched him hard in the face. Hunt was knocked to the ground.
William squatted on the ground, holding his collar, sneered, and then punched him hard again. His face carried a hint of fierceness as he coldly said, "Don't make me repeat myself."
Those in Class 17 who knew William were aware that he was truly angry.
The leading guy from Class 20 came over to defuse the situation, helped Hunt up, and said to William, "William, he's new to our class, don't be angry with him for not knowing any better."
William just glanced at him and said, "Keep your class in check."
A friendly match was spoiled by one bad apple from Class 20.
The guy licked his lips, feeling embarrassed to ask William if they should continue playing.
William usually looked fierce, and he had just beaten someone to the ground. Many girls nearby, fearing a fight, had already left early.
Aria tugged at Ellie's sleeve and said, "Ellie, let's... maybe leave, in case they start fighting."
Sarah, with her arms crossed, walked up to the leading guy from Class 20 and said, "Play basketball if you want, it's supposed to be a friendly match, it's pointless to resort to such tactics. Don't say we're from the same class."
The leading guy's name was Atticus, who had liked Sarah since high school. However, he was tall and strong, and Sarah preferred William's type, chasing after William for a year, yet he never paid her any attention.
Atticus smiled and honestly, scratching his head, a bit embarrassed, and said, "It is indeed our class's issue this time."
Sarah said, "That's definitely our class's problem." After she finished speaking, she added, "I even bought water for all of you, but suddenly, I don't feel like giving it to you to drink."
The guys from Class 20 asked, "Bought water? Where, where?"
Sarah said sternly, "You still have the nerve to drink it?"
They all glanced at Hunt, blaming him.
Sarah said, "One bottle per person, get it yourself." She took out a bottle of water from the box and handed it to William, saying, "Everyone gets one, would you like to have a drink too?"
William didn't even look at her, just walked right past her.
He glanced at Ellie by the door, who obediently stood there waiting for him to come out.
A vague feeling rose in William's heart. He walked up to Ellie and said, "Where's my water?"
Ellie obediently handed him the water without a word.
Their fingertips briefly touched, and William frowned and said, "Are you silly? The water bottle is so cold, and you've been holding it the whole time."
Ellie looked at her hand and said, "I thought you would come out soon."
William was silent for a moment, then said, "I'll come out earlier next time. Do you have a tissue? Little prude."
Ellie took out a piece of paper and handed it to him.
Hearing him call her little prude again, Ellie bit her lip. As he wiped his face with the paper, she said, "It seems like I've used it before."
William said, "I don't mind."
Ellie: "..."
