CHAPTER 7
Atobay and Mhaharanni have known each other for some time. Atobay was a Byanjana.
They met when her uncle, one of Ti Raja's council members, gave her an invitation to attend a dance in the castle, in honor of Ti Tula, the goddess of balance. Atobay's uncle had more pressing matters to attend to, so he asked her to attend the dance on his behalf. She was thrilled.
She had many clothes, but she never had the opportunity to show off her beautiful collection of clothes. And so on this occasion, she dressed elegantly and went to the party.
While in the party, Atobay was having fun, but she suddenly had the urge to visit the palace gardens, so with a goblet of river berry wine in hand, she walked through the crowd through the large wide open double doors at the end of the hall and into the garden. As she walked through the garden sipping her wine and enjoying the different fragrance of the many species of flowers in the garden, she ran into Mhaharanni who was also doing the same thing. As they looked at each other, they could see each other's matching tattoos glowing, which meant without a doubt that they were Gulha given love spouse. Mhaharanni quickly walked up to her and led her to a seat and sat her down, and then he sat next to her. Ever since, they had been inseparable.
Mhaharanni and Atobay had not merged. Mostly because the official merging rites of a prince include the official coronation of the prince as the sole heir to the throne and other rites, which could not be performed because Mhaharanni's position as the prince was still kept secret. The rest of the council and Nagari ka (citizens) saw him as a boy Ti Raja took interest in, so no children could be brought forth from them until Mhaharanni had been officially announced as the son of Ti Raja and heir to the throne. After which, the merging ceremony could take place. Never the less, Atobay lived in the palace and was treated with love and respect by the few who knew the secret.
"Mhaharanni, go take a bath, give Miciry one less reason to want to consider an early retirement," Atobay said jokingly, leading her love spouse away to his bathroom. Mhaharanni turned his head to look at Miciry and asked,
"You wouldn't do that, would you?"
Miciry sighed and replied,
"It has crossed my mind many times".
They all laughed jokingly.
While Mhaharanni was washing up, Atobay went to the palace kitchen and brought a tray filled with breakfast and juice. She set the tray down on the large table in the middle of Mhaharanni's sitting room. Miciry nodded in approval and headed for the tray.
"Good, because I already ate what Calsa brought while waiting for him," He Said.
In a short while, Mhaharanni was out and dressed in training clothes. This comprised loose pants and skin tight shirt made from sea weed fibers and rubber lartex to help the wearer move freely. This was practically the common training clothes of the people of Ti Gulha.
Mhaharanni quickly ate his meal and was ready to depart for the training grounds. On their way, they met Cahasiha, one of the right-hand men of Ti Raja. He told them that Ti Raja needed to speak with them, and that they should see him by noon. It was an unusual request from Ti Raja, but they nodded and continued on their way.
Unlike Miciry whose powers where hidden Mhaharanni was not so lucky, he can turn into a hideous wasp whose sting could paralyze any living thing, in that form he could also suck energy straight out of people to weaken them but he had no true physical defense once he changed to his human form.
Miciry's ability was similar, but more potent. Miciry was a cosmic conduit, meaning unlike everybody else whose powers and abilities were fed through Ti Gulha, Miciry was a passageway through which the very energy that created Ti Gulha and the universe flowed. He could consciously absorb only a small amount of the energy that passed through him, and what his body naturally absorbed, it kept. These energies, when not in use, were uncontrollable.
He could also absorb the energies of others and use the energies to his will. That was the way Ti Gulha made him, or so everyone thought. This ability made him a feared and respected man who was seen by everyone as an extraordinary person.
Miciry had been trained by Cassidonah to a point where he could control the energies flowing through him and use them for good.
Miciry and Mhaharanni had accomplished a lot over the years, since Ti Raja appointed Miciry to be the personal guard and trainer for his son.
Mhaharanni had become stronger and better. He may never be as good as Miciry, but he could match his sister Cassidonah, who was considered a great fighter and a woman of discipline.
After the training, Miciry and Mhaharanni went to their respective chambers to clean up and change. Miciry dressed for his mission and Mhaharanni dressed in plain milk robe and trousers for his history and culture class, handled by some council members who were trusted and appointed by Ti Raja.
Once they were both done, they made their way to Ti Raja's throne room.
On their way to the throne room, Miciry and Mhaharanni kept wondering why Ti Raja sent for them. Cahasiha was one of the most trusted Right-hand men of Ti Raja. For such a high-ranking man to call for them, meant that whatever was at foot must be very serious.
