CHAPTER 9
At those words, Miciry started shaking his head in denial. He had no interest whatsoever in being anything other than being a general in the continent's service and to be the best love spouse and father he could ever be.
Miciry suddenly asked the priests in a cold voice
"Why?"
He turned to his friend Mhaharanni and said;
"No offence to you and our friendship. You know I will be by your side always"
He turned back to the priests and asked again.
"Are you very sure? Did you question them?"
There was concern in the eyes of everyone present except Ti Raja. He was used to the fury of the ArtchMigerd's. But the most concerned of all was Mhaharanni. He was highly disappointed that his dear friend did not want to stand by his side in ruling Ti Gulha.
The priest of Ti Gulha answered;
"We asked, and we were shown, that there is a war coming and Ti Raja will be taken from us before the war. But the continent will survive it. Only if you and all concerned accept their responsibilities and work for the common good, otherwise, we will all perish. And besides, even if you accept the responsibility or not, you will receive the powers accorded the Right-hand man of Ti Raja"
Miciry wasn't having any of it. Shaking his head, he looked at Mhaharanni and said,
"Do not grief my friend, I do not want the added powers and I am not fit for the exalted position of the right hand man of the future Raja, because I still find it difficult to control the universal energies that pass through me. I want to be there for you, not as your Right-hand man but as your loyal friend. I am more afraid of the weaknesses and passions in a body such as mine than what is coming, for I am more convinced that the damage I can cause will be more than what the future menace will ever be able to cause".
Miciry stormed out of the throne room.
The Priestess and priest urged Coatahphann to speak with Miciry at home for the sake of the continent of Ti Gulha.
The priests also told the Right-hand men of Ti Raja to prepare to train Miciry whenever he was ready. For knowing Miciry, it was only Gulha that could convince him.
Ti Raja asked the priest and priestess to explain further about the prophecy concerning the coming war. The priest of Gulha said,
"The enemy in the war will be revealed on the day of battle. He is one that has been punished with Gulha madness. He has been manipulating and misusing the energies until he is completely out of balance."
The priest of Gulha concluded,
"He will seek to use some citizens and some in the military against us. Miciry is the only one strong enough to defeat him"
Having said that, the priest of Gulha and the priestess of Tula bowed and left.
Ti Raja nodded as Mhaharanni and the rest of them left the throne room.
Ti Raja sat alone in the throne room and thought for a while about the events of the day and he came to the conclusion that the time to visit the Hostlaine and have a talk with his long neglected late friend, Artch Burtcher, Miciry's late father if he was to get the ArtchMigerd's champion to save the people he vowed to protect is upon him.
