"Please don't taste bad, please don't taste bad, please don't taste bad."

He puts the finger in his mouth and swallows it whole.

A strong decision has been made, and there is no turning back. In an instant, the red finger was consumed by Sukuna, who, after a few seconds, opened his eyes and felt a burning sensation in his throat, followed by an intense, disgusting taste.

"Ugh, this is gross. It feels scratchy,"

"Bleegh."

Bringing a hand to his throat as he coughed from the unpleasant sensation, seconds passed, and soon minutes did too. Sukuna remained seated, waiting for something to happen, but he felt no change. He let out a sigh of disappointment and then heard the door open, revealing Ayame entering with a box.

Standing up from the floor, he walked toward her, greeted her, and asked about the box. However, before he could hear what it contained, a strong palpitation hit his chest. A sudden dizziness struck his head, and he fell to his knees, clutching his chest with his right hand while supporting himself on the floor with his left.

Ayame saw Sukuna collapse and immediately put the box down to rush to his side. She tried to calm him, but Sukuna couldn't hear her. She noticed he was struggling to breathe and pressing his right hand harder against his chest.

Sukuna felt an excruciating pain in his chest and an unbearable ache in his head. The pain was so intense that his vision began to blur until all he could see was darkness.

Seeing Sukuna close his eyes and collapse to the ground, Ayame became deeply worried. She lifted him and hurriedly carried him to the doctor. Leaving the apartment in a rush, she dashed to the elevator that had just arrived on their floor.

She entered the elevator along with an elderly woman who lived two doors down. The woman noticed Ayame's anxious face and pressed the button for the ground floor. Ayame thanked her but silently wished the elevator would descend faster. She could see how much Sukuna was sweating and the pained expression on his face.

While Ayame was taking Sukuna to the hospital, he found himself in a dark place. He was awake but could see nothing more than the darkness itself. Soon, the scenery changed, and he was now kneeling in a pool of red water.Putting his hand in the water, he saw that it was red but felt strange. He turned left and right to see some bones that seemed to be reaching upwards. He tried to turn his head, but before he could look around completely, the scenery changed again. Now he was in what appeared to be a village with wooden houses, but the place seemed destroyed. There was fire everywhere, and several bodies lay on the ground. Some were cut, others were mangled, while some were missing parts of their bodies. He got up from the ground and took a few steps to approach a body, but the scenery changed again. Now he was in what seemed to be a modern city, but it was night. There were no people anywhere.Looking around to figure out where he was, a loud explosion was heard in the distance. He turned immediately and saw a huge ball of fire that lit up the night like the dawn of a new day for only a few seconds. It didn't last long, and soon night fell again. Confused by the situation, he tried to move forward to find out what was happening. Taking the first step, all the lights in the place went out. Now he was enveloped in darkness again, as at the beginning, but there was a big difference. He heard the howling of wolves behind him. Turning around, he saw a huge figure bound and wrapped in several bandages with several ropes around it, tying it up. He heard what seemed to be a person speaking but could not understand what that person was saying, but he saw how the ropes fell and the huge figure began to move

The scenery changes again, and now he finds himself in a severely damaged and destroyed building. It has no roof, with a diagonal cut visible along the walls. Approaching the edge cautiously, he sees several ruined buildings and streets below. A loud sound comes from his right, drawing his attention.

He turns to see a pillar of fire rising from the ground and rapidly expanding. A strong gust of air strikes him, forcing him to step back and shield his face with his right arm to see through the chaos. All he can make out are the flames of the explosion approaching.

Everything turns dark again, and now he is in another destroyed building. This one has no cuts but is damaged by explosions. Feeling a sense of dread for what might come next, he approaches one of the windows. His eyes widen at the sight before him, stretching across several kilometers.

He sees a purple sphere that looks as though it's about to explode, along with some small figures near it. The purple sphere bursts, emitting an intense violet light that blinds him for a moment. He stumbles back, closing his eyes tightly against the glare.

Still dazed by the brilliant light, he struggles to open his eyes. It takes some effort, but he finally manages, though his vision remains unfocused. Gradually, he recognizes the setting—it's the red lake, or the lake of blood, once again. Ahead of him, he can make out a mountain of rocks or unidentifiable objects. At the top, there appears to be a figure.

But he still couldn't focus his vision. The figure atop that strange mountain raised its left hand into the air, pointing directly at Sukuna. Filled with unease, he took a step back but froze as he heard these words:

"Cursed energy is part of you, and you'll understand that soon enough."

"You'll be able to use some techniques, but you need to strengthen that weak body before the next finger."

"Hahaha, try not to die."

The tone was a mix of excitement, boredom, and mockery. The voice felt familiar to Sukuna, but he couldn't confirm anything as everything went dark again. He wasn't sure how much time had passed, but when he opened his eyes, he saw a white ceiling. Turning his head, he noticed several machines operating nearby and tubes attached to his right hand.

Sitting up in the bed, Sukuna inspected his new surroundings, trying to determine if this was a real place or another imaginary setting like before. He touched the sheets, the pillow, the bed, and one of the machines beside him. He could feel everything, confirming to himself that he was in a real place.

He pressed a button on the wall labeled "Help," and within minutes, a nurse came in to check on him before leaving to call the doctor. The doctor arrived, performed some tests, and called Sukuna's family. Ayame showed up almost immediately after receiving the call and began bombarding him with questions.

The room was full of noise, but Sukuna was lost in his thoughts. He didn't understand those places he'd seen, but they felt eerily familiar, as if he'd been there before. A wave of nostalgia swept over him, but what he felt most strongly was a surge of energy coursing through his body, along with knowledge of two techniques: The Reliquary Technique and The Ten Shadows Technique.

This knowledge had come to him after he'd called for the nurse. It felt like an intrinsic part of him, something he had done countless times before.

Though deep in thought, Sukuna remained aware of what was happening around him. He was discharged from the hospital and sent home to rest. In the following days, Ayame tended to him constantly, but soon, Sukuna had to return to school.

When he arrived, his classmates bombarded him with questions about his absence. After a long while, he managed to calm them down and finally found a moment of peace.

During recess, Sukuna distanced himself from the others, staying hidden from the teachers. He stood behind one of the school's walls, facing a barrier that enclosed the school grounds.

Raising his right hand toward the wall, Sukuna uttered a simple word:

"Hachi. [Dismantle.]"

In seconds, a horizontal line formed across the wall, revealing the street and some houses beyond. Seeing the cut in the wall, a full smile spread across Sukuna's face. But if anyone else had seen that smile, they would've felt a chill of fear.
