The plan is simple: night falls, everyone is asleep. Ayame goes to bed at ten o'clock, leaving Sukuna awake. After about half an hour, he will get out of bed, check to make sure she is still asleep, and then approach the front door, slipping into the shadows to exit the apartment.

Once night falls, darkness will be abundant, allowing him to stay hidden in the shadows to escape or hide. It could be said that the night has become his domain, but to achieve this, he must first establish the timing for each action he plans to take.

Escaping from the house is simple, but the challenge lies in the time it will take him to return. Based on an estimate of the distance, it would take him hours if he runs, even using cursed energy. However, if he uses the Jade Dogs and supplies them with sufficient cursed energy, he could significantly reduce the travel time.

Even if he manages this, there's still the issue of how long it will take him to get back, sneak into bed, and pretend to be asleep. The advantage of this crazy idea is obtaining another finger to increase his power. The downside is that he could possibly get caught, and above all, he might not be able to stay awake late into the night.

He tried it once and was only able to stay awake until midnight; after that, he fell into a deep sleep. This is a significant disadvantage due to his six-year-old body.

Because of this, he will have to postpone the plan until he can stay awake the entire night. With no other option, he had to remain at home and practice his techniques, focusing exclusively on the Ten Shadows Technique to avoid causing further damage to the apartment.

For quite some time, he practiced entering and exiting shadows. He discovered that he could hide in almost anything that cast a shadow, but this was limited by the size of his body—he couldn't fit into shadows much smaller than himself. Additionally, he found that he could store objects within his shadow.

This improvement in his Ten Shadows Technique initially surprised him, but as he continued practicing, he discovered that he could perform it with increasing fluidity and precision.

While he kept practicing in his apartment, outside on the streets, heroes, investigators, and police were working tirelessly to investigate the attack on the kindergarten. However, they were unable to find any leads. They interviewed some families to gather clues, but most said their children only felt an overwhelming sense of fear and were unable to act, while others fainted instantly.

With no solid leads, the case was shelved and temporarily closed until new evidence emerged. Soon after, the school reopened with increased police security patrolling the area and some heroes either passing by or staying to guard the premises.

Life almost returned to normal. Some families sought medical help for their children, others transferred their kids to different schools, while a few brave ones chose to stay. Sukuna's daily life also returned to normal.

He soon fell into an almost routine daily schedule: waking up, having breakfast, going to school, staying at home, eating, practicing his cursed technique and control, having dinner, and going to sleep.

A normal routine for a five-year-old child. However, Sukuna didn't sit idly by. He tried to put his plan into action to acquire his second finger but was caught by Ayame once or twice. On another occasion, he was intercepted by a hero patrolling his area. The hero found it odd to see such a small person riding on the back of a massive black wolf, about 3 meters tall (118.11 inches) and 2.5 meters long (98.43 inches).

His attempts to obtain his second finger failed, and now he couldn't leave the house because Ayame kept a close eye on him, especially at night. She stayed with him until he fell asleep, and even if he pretended to be asleep, she would stay by his side for about two more hours. With no other choice, he had to postpone his plan.

The good thing was that the Jade Dogs continued to detect the finger's scent in the same location, so for the moment, he didn't have to worry about a curious stranger or a mad scientist taking it for research.

Time began to pass—winter arrived, then spring, summer, autumn, and winter again. The years rolled by, and Sukuna began to grow older, and especially taller, developing at a much faster rate than any other child.

Now that he was in elementary school, he looked like a child on the verge of starting middle school. Some kids tried to make fun of him for being taller than them, but they ended up crying—not from intense fear this time, but from a light beating he gave them, along with a few cuts in their clothes.

He now had greater control over his cursed energy, allowing him to measure the severity of his cuts, and his body had grown stronger, able to endure more force. He hadn't neglected his physical training either, doing plenty of exercise to maintain a strong physical condition. While he didn't yet have well-defined muscles, his stamina was remarkably high.

During this time, he acquired another shikigami: the Toad. He obtained it during a school trip to observe nature in a forest. Seeing how large the area was, he came up with a great idea.

He carefully slipped away from the group, hiding in the shadow of a local guide. Then he began to move away, shifting to the shadow of a child walking behind him, and then to another shadow, and so on, until he was far from the group.

He did this cautiously, changing shadows only when everyone was distracted. He ventured deeper into the forest, and once he was alone, he summoned the Toad shikigami.

The Toad emerged from his shadow and, upon seeing him, immediately attacked, extending its tongue toward him. Sukuna sidestepped to his left to avoid the tongue, grabbed it with both hands to prevent the Toad from retracting it, and, using great strength, yanked it toward him. Spinning his body, he hurled the Toad into a tree.

The toad slammed into the tree, leaving a large impact mark, then fell to the ground. Dazed, it retracted its tongue and looked around for Sukuna but couldn't find him anywhere. It hopped a few times toward the spot where it had been summoned, but before it could reach the area, Sukuna dropped from the sky and landed on its head.

Caught off guard, the toad tried to shake him off and fling him aside, but a sharp pain stopped it as thousands of cuts sliced through its body. Sukuna had used Hachi (Cleave) on its head, and in an instant, the toad was divided into several pieces.

Once the toad was cut apart, it transformed into a black liquid that seeped into Sukuna's shadow. Seeing this, Sukuna immediately formed the toad's hand sign. His shadow expanded slightly, and a black mass emerged, taking the shape of the toad.

Seeing this, Sukuna smiled, pleased with the improvement in his technique. Noticing that no one had returned to his location yet, he considered summoning another shikigami since he still had time. However, he stopped when he heard several voices shouting his name. Realizing they had noticed his absence, he quickly decided to return to the cabin, planning to use the excuse that he had been in the bathroom.

Before reaching the cabin, he saw the teachers searching for him. He hid in one of the trees, trying to figure out how to pass by without being seen. An idea struck him: he summoned the Jade Dogs to create a distraction for the teachers and students.

The Jade Wolves charged toward the teachers, who were startled to see two massive wolves running at them. They immediately moved to protect the students while the guides rushed to alert security and local caretakers.

Seeing the commotion he had caused, Sukuna took the opportunity to sprint toward the cabin. Once inside, he dispelled the wolves, watching them dissolve into a black liquid and vanish back into his shadow.

With that, Sukuna had avoided getting caught, but he left everyone astonished at the sight of two wolves materializing out of nowhere, turning into black liquid, and disappearing without a trace.

With this small adventure, Sukuna gained a new shikigami, but he planned to acquire others soon. He managed to convince Ayame to return to the forest, using the excuse of observing nature for a school project. This would give him the opportunity to summon more shikigami and further increase his strength.

He was still deciding which shikigami to summon next, but he was leaning toward the deer, rabbits, and chimera. While they were somewhat weak, the chimera could fly, so he would need to prepare the area to limit its flight and defeat it efficiently.

As for the deer and rabbits, they seemed easier to handle. He would just need to restrict their ground movements, and with Kai (Dismantle), he could finish them instantly without wasting time as he had with the toad. That time, he had deliberately prolonged the fight to test its physical capabilities and cursed technique.
