Chapter 18 - Chapter 17 God is Pleased with Us_2

```
This darkness was cold and inescapable.
```

Just as Al fell into despair, within the darkness, emerged a light.

The scene of the world's beginning appeared before Al's eyes, and he was so stunned that he stood frozen in place.

Then, he instinctively looked up at his surroundings, his gaze falling upon the mountains, where he saw a figure descending from the peak, bringing life from beneath the waters up to the earth.

Al witnessed this scene and felt an indescribable heaviness overwhelm him, making him tremble uncontrollably.

That figure was the authority of life.

It was his God.

The scene came to a halt, and then slowly faded away, melting into the surroundings like a dissolving mist.

Al dared not blink, fearful of missing something.

In the blink of an eye, he found himself at the summit of the high mountain.

God stood there, looking at him.

"Al, you are the chosen one."

"My Lord, what do you wish to reveal to me?"

Al knelt down in panic and reverence, his faith trembling with excitement.

The gaze of Chen Yi was gentle.

"Al, record what you have seen and tell it to others, tell everyone."

God spoke thus.

Al closed his eyes and etched every word into his mind.

A moment later, Al opened his eyes and softly said,

"I have recorded it."

The gaze of God made Al feel an indescribable warmth, giving him the urge to speak his heart out.

Al looked at God, opened his mouth, then hesitated.

"Speak whatever is on your mind."

"Lord, those priests did not wish to extinguish the fire, so I extinguished it, for that fire was not your image."

"I saw it."

"Lord, those people call me Prophet, for I have returned from the high mountains."

"I saw it, and it is your due."

The words of God filled Al with pride, for he knew God had approved of him.

Thus, filled with joy, Al recounted many past events.

God listened to each one until Al had nearly recounted everything, remaining patient throughout.

After speaking, Al had nothing more to say and found great comfort and joy in God's presence.

This feeling was like a child boasting his deeds to his father.

Finally, Al took up the duty of a priest and asked,

"God, how shall we sacrifice in the future, and which beasts should we offer to you?"

"Your sacrifices mean nothing to me,"

Chen Yi said with a smile and a shake of the head.

Al was stunned and hastily said,

"God, are there no beasts that you take pleasure in? Do we not need to offer sacrifices?"

From the beginning of their offerings, the Logos people never ceased their animal sacrifices, slaughtering the finest game to present to the Divine, letting the blood of the beasts saturate the altar, which they deemed a righteous custom.

God did not answer but instead questioned,

"Do you honor me with blood, expecting me to repay you with blood? Do you honor me with disasters, expecting me to repay you with disasters?"

Al, upon hearing this, finally trembled, realizing the depth of God's words.

"Lord, from now on, there will be no more blood sacrifices."

Al spoke passionately, paused, and then asked,

"So God, what do you take pleasure in?"

God smiled and looked down the mountain,

Following God's gaze, Al saw the city of the Logos people.

In an instant, he recalled the entire history of their civilization.

At first, the Ape-men acquired language, shed their fur, and later, named the Logos people, they demarcated their hunting grounds, preserved food, cut down the towering trees, and with massive timbers and stones, built the prototype of an early city on the earth.

Later they faced the dilemma of death, a crisis of reason, and now, having found answers, they settled down. The Logos people bustled about on the earth, living peacefully and joyfully, building the world's first civilization, exploring the mysteries of the world with reason.

Being called Prophet, Al understood something, and suddenly, the corners of his eyes grew wet with tears.

God takes pleasure in us.

For in this savage age,

We alone can be called "people."

With tears hanging on his cheeks, Al started to laugh, feeling sincere delight and comfort, an ineffable pride welling up from the chest of the prophet.

The one and only God is pleased with us.

"God, I will often come to the mountain to see you,"

Al said through his tears.

"Do as you wish,"

Al received the response and nodded solemnly.

He admonished himself never to forget the words he had spoken with God.

"Now, go back, Al,"

God said to him,

"Your past, present, and future, I have witnessed them all."

....…

....…

The following day.

As dawn was about to break, Al entered the palace, to the great astonishment of the Sapo King.

Immediately afterward, Al requested him to gather the people in front of the palace, sharing his dream of the previous night in full detail.

The Sapo King was so excited that he could hardly contain himself, heeding Al's command and summoning the citizens of the Kingdom to the square in front of the palace.

The King's call was irrefutable, and before long, the Logos people flocked to the palace from all directions, only to see the Sapo King and Prophet Al standing upon the high steps, looking down at everything.

All eyes gathered on the King and Prophet.

"My people, the Prophet has heard the oracle of God!"

Before Al could speak, the Sapo King eagerly proclaimed in a loud voice.

The oracle...

As the words rang out, the crowd's gaze trembled slightly, their breathing suddenly becoming heavier, they looked at the King and Prophet in disbelief.

"God showed me the darkness and chaos, and then the beginning of the earth as light shone forth,"

"He showed me life coming from beneath the waters to the earth, from where our ancestors have grown to this day."
