Chapter 21 - Chapter 19 Wheat and Unihorn

Chen Yi wouldn't always stand at the summit of the high mountains; He often wandered to other places in the world, not only to inspect this world but also to ponder while walking.

Since His arrival in this world, His concept of time had blurred. The rising and setting of the sun were less than the blinking of an eye to Him.

Time propelled rivers into the sea, leading all things from birth towards decay, yet it could not leave a mark on Him.

Chen Yi often felt curious and perplexed about His past self.

How could He have thought that the history of hundreds of years was so immensely long? How could He have felt that His life was as brief as the morning dew? Now, time, to Him, was inexhaustible and limitless.

Chen Yi knew what feelings His past self must have had, but He could no longer empathize with them.

God walked across the earth in the directions He had once traveled, witnessing a variety of spectacular and beautiful scenes.

After many journeys, God knew that the high mountain where He had originally been was the southwesternmost corner of the continent, where the mountains stretched unbroken, and He couldn't help but feel that it was simply a suitable place for Giant Dragons to grow and dwell.

Yet, there were no Giant Dragons in this world.

Following the path He had taken before, Chen Yi went northward from the southwestern corner of the continent.

Chen Yi reached the middle part of the continent and found Himself in the midst of a boundless plain, where rivers came from on high, making the surrounding soil rich and fertile.

Many diverse plants grew on the plains, and such fertile zones were usually where the most vigorous plants were most common.

Following the river toward the estuary, Chen Yi stopped at a certain spot.

The reason was simple; Chen Yi saw a cluster of flora where pale green and pale yellow intertwined.

One was covered in downy hairs, with flat panicles, short and narrow, looking fragile at a distance. The other, joint by joint, was almost entirely pale green, strikingly beautiful.

These were Uralto Wheat and mock-goat-grass.

It was as if two armies clashed or, perhaps, as if a man and woman were mingling.

Chen Yi walked over and, after pondering for a moment, approached the junction of Uralto Wheat and mock-goat-grass, gently picking the hybrid they had produced, Timothy Wheat.

Ancient memories awoke with the passing of time, and Chen Yi remembered that this was the bedrock on which countless resplendent civilizations on Earth had been born.

"Wheat."

The ear of wheat lay in Chen Yi's hand.

"The world really is magical."

Not far away was the river's estuary, with the sea so close at hand. When He looked up, a gargantuan natural bridge spanned the sky, extending from the peaks on both sides.

Above the bridge nested the four-legged, three-eyed snakes, with four limbs and the third eye growing on their tails, often hanging upside down from cliffs, waiting for prey.

As the tide came in, the raging waves beneath left countless fish stranded on the shore. The four-legged, three-eyed snakes leaped down from the cliffs, devouring the stranded fish in large mouthfuls.

Chen Yi watched these creatures and saw a four-legged, three-eyed snake wag its tail ten times; the eye on the tail emitted a purple light, and the fish were drawn as if by gravity to the front of the snake.

God walked to the edge of the beach.

The waves beat against the shore, growing more and more powerful as time passed, with the vast amount of seawater eroding the coastline, smoothing the rocks to a shine.

The accumulation of fish on the shore increased, and after gathering enough food, the four-legged, three-eyed snakes hurriedly retreated from the beach, afraid of being swept into the ocean by the towering waves.

God walked closer to the seawater, standing on the edge of the coast.

He gazed into the distance, sensing some colossal creature within the water.

The waves churned tumultuously, obscuring the sun with their might, and as they crashed against the coast, they struck like a hammer on an anvil, thundering aloud.

Boom!

Suddenly, a towering wave surged from the depths of the sea, coming with an unstoppable force and crashing mightily upon the shore. Beneath the vast wave, something massive was concealed, violently colliding with the coast.

Chen Yi looked over.

It was a Unihorn.

The fierce wave had swept it up, tossed it into the air, and as it fell, it collided harshly against the exposed rocks, its sharp, long horn snapping off.

The Unihorn lay on the damp beach, blood flowing from its head, its soft lips let out pained wails.

Chen Yi watched the Unihorn.

After the sea had flung the Unihorn onto the shore, it was as if the waves spent all their energy, each subsequent surge weaker than the last, the Unihorn struck down by the sea but not taken back.

The waves slowly receded into the ocean, and the Unihorn let out a cry of despair.

Chen Yi walked over.

He lifted his hand and picked up the broken horn of the Unihorn.

Whales are among the most intelligent creatures of nature. Seeing a figure approach, the Unihorn cried out for help.

God looked upon the Unihorn, three meters in length, its severed horn still bleeding profusely, the fractured wound shimmering with a pale blue light, a clear sign it had been altered by that pale force.

Holding the horn, Chen Yi felt the broken piece contained a certain power to manipulate water.

It was just that the Unihorn before him had not yet learned to utilize it.

Chen Yi turned to the wailing Unihorn and smiled, reaching out to gently caress its broken horn.

"I will take you back to the sea, but this horn, you have to give it to me."

While speaking, the Unihorn's severed horn gradually stopped bleeding, the wound slowly healing.

The Unihorn let out cries of excitement, feeling its wound mending.

Chen Yi shook the horn in his hand, touched the Unihorn's head, and made it understand his intent.

The Unihorn immediately put on a long face and after weakly protesting twice, agreed to Chen Yi's words.

Chen Yi nodded, tenderly caressing its broken horn, then with a gentle shove, the Unihorn moved back from the shore and quickly slid into the water.

Returning to the water, the Unihorn frolicked happily, swimming excitedly into the ocean. Diving into the sea, it didn't just swim away; after a short while, it returned from the ocean.

Then, nearing the shore, the Unihorn raised its head toward Chen Yi and joyously spat out fish from its mouth.

"Are you trying to thank me?"

Chen Yi couldn't help but find it amusing and adorable.

As if in response to Chen Yi's question, the Unihorn swam back into the sea, dived, and after a little while came back to the shore, repeatedly spitting out fish.

Chen Yi shook his head with a laugh, gently lifting the horn in his hand. The water of the sea gently coalesced into a flowing Water Ball, which the sea fish offered by the Unihorn entered one by one.

Seeing Chen Yi accepting the fish, the Unihorn was satisfied, uttering joyful cries, as if singing a song.

God walked onto the sea and gently caressed the head of the Unihorn.

"If we meet again, I'll take you to the mountains."

The Unihorn didn't quite understand His words and just docilely blew water.
