The "Feng" they claimed, in actuality, referred to the "Bee" within these groups, whose modus operandi involved swarming their prey like bees, skillfully coordinating and dividing tasks to study and set up scams that lured people into their traps, and then defrauding them of money or seduction.
"Hemp," also known as "Horse," implied acting alone—one-man operations. Scammers from the Hemp gate often disguised themselves as Taoists, monks, or reclusive experts, specifically targeting the wealthy for their money.
