Chapter 4 - Chapter 3-First Job of the Day

(Ruins POV)

As I begin to roam the streets after that short dillemma, It seems to be awfully quiet, I have to find the main telepole around here...

Ah! There it is, as I approach it, I then open my briefcase before opening the very bottom of the pole, to see that it is totally busted.. of course it is, this division always has some sort of problem or issue.

I then get to fixing it, Albeit it's annoying seeing how it's missing some wiring and parts, but I should be done in just a minute, I've been doing this job of mine for quite a while now so I should get used to this.

I then finish up and task completed, I then carry back my briefcase, before heading to find wherever this busted cameras or smoke alarms is.

As I look around, I really can't help but feel that someone is watching me... It's odd and unerving, well whoever they are I hope they aren't the ones who aren't making a mess out of this place, because this is about my 5th trip to this division this week. And it's getting very annoying.

I then stop, as I see the broken cameras laying around in some dinky alleyway, and as I was about to inspect it, I catch something in the corner of my eye... 3 people, they were in robes and were moving quite fast, I'll fix this up first before dealing with whatever that is.

As I finish hanging up the cameras and roughly rewiring it to work again properly, I then go look around to see what that commotion was all about, As I begin to look around the streets and corners of this bloody and almost desolate wasteland you call a division, I then see those 3 people in robes, I can see that they seem to be talking about something in the distance.

I then hide behind one of the telephone poles, they don't seem to know I'm here as I sneakily follow them, as they begin to walk and not run like last time...

As they begin to walk, we move further and further into the division as the sounds of broken car horns and countless broken mechanisms fill the empty road, and soon these 3 figures stop in the center of it all

One of them seems to look behind as this robed person shouts out

"COME OUT WHOEVER YOU ARE!!"

Now I don't know who in their right mind, would answer to that, I'm also pretty certain they don't know I'm here so they're clearly just guessing, so I'm gonna just act like I didn't hear nothing.

And just as expected, the man who seems to be incharge grabs the person who shouteds shoulder before saying

"Jones, There is clearly no one here. You're just being paranoid again, let's hurry up and deliver this parcel to the boss, before anyone comes and steals it from us"

Okay, so what kind of idiot, openly discusses their plans and what they are trying to do in the open. I know that no one is here but still you got to be careful man, you're already acting suspiciously you're just making it worse for yourself.

As the three robed figures continue their discussion, this time I guess they know better now as they aren't talking in the open and so loudly so they at least have some self awareness.

And after their brief discussion they get back to where they were going, as I follow them from behind making sure they don't notice a thing. And soon enough they finally stop in an abandoned and run down corner store. Typical place to hide your activities.

Of course I briefly followed them in a few minutes after they already went it, to make sure that they don't know acknowledge it... Why did I do this?

Well, now I'm here. It seems to be a run down place as there's a curtain in the end where their some light coming out of, but the overall entrance and the room is dark enough to where they wouldn't see me if I just stick myself to the walls and not make a noise.

I then stick my body to one of the walls connecting to the next room where these three seems to talking to someone.

"So did you get what I wanted?" The other person spoke who seemed to sound like a man, and also seemed to be the person these three were going to.

"Yes boss, we got the invitation for the syndicates meeting for next week, we also got the entry pass to let us in" One of the people who were apart of the three said.

"Good, we're just a small part of one of the largest intelligience syndicates in this place, its good that they let us in, now then you should all head back to the headquarters and inform them of what's going on" The boss answered with some notable hint of happiness, as he then motioned them all to go back..

Syndicates gathering huh? That's a bit dangerous a bunch of people with blessings and generally strong people. Our department is probably gonna conduct a raid in there meeting spot soon, I'll just make their job easier then.

I then lightly touch one of the walls as a small spark of fire appears from my fingertips, as I calmly head out of the corner shop.

[Ignite] I muttered silently as the small spark I created inside the shop, immediately erupt into a large and uncontrollable flames, as it begins to engulf the building and presumably everyone inside, including those three robed men and the boss inside.

I then begin to look with a pair of dead eyes as I hear their countless pleas and screams as they desperately escape the ever growing flames.

"AHA! ARGH! HELP! HELP US FIRE! PLEASE!-" Their desperate screams echo around the empty road and streets, overshadowing the sounds of the broken mechanisms and sound of wreckage in the background

"Plea-AGH! PLEAS-HHAGH Hu-" The First person croaked as the fire devours his limbs

"I DON-*cough* want to-AGH!" The Second Dies as his mouth is filled with smoke and fire

"Help.. Go-*Cough*" The Third person says before quickly and painfully crushed by the roof of the corner shop, the fire only adding to that pain.

"IM TOO Good-*Cough* to*Cough* Die-" The boss of the group seems to say as his hands grab nothing, as his entire body finally succumbs to the fire around him.

...I finished fixing the circuitry, the Security equipment, and I have dealt with the occupants from the star-nosed mole syndicate.

...I'd say I feel regret but I know deep down, it's better to solve it now when it's easy, rather then later where it'd be difficult.
