The piercing sound of sirens faded into the night as the police cars screeched to a halt outside the West Estate. Flashing red and blue lights. Nathan and Scarlett stood in the shadowed courtyard, catching their breath. The chaos of Grayson's retreat lingered in the air.
Nathan glanced at Scarlett, his hand still gripping hers.
"This is it," he said, his voice heavy with a mix of hope and dread.
"We have to end it now." He said.
