The tension in the server room was suffocating. Scarlett's eyes locked on Alex. His cold smile and the sparkle in his eyes sent a shiver down her spine. Nathan shifted slightly beside her; ready to protect Scarlett from Alex.
"I've been waiting for this, Alex said, stepping closer, his voice low and toxic.
"All your righteous meddling, Scarlett it all ends here. Did you really think you could outsmart me?"
Scarlett inhaled sharply.
"You've underestimated me before, Alex. That's your weakness—you see people as pawns, not as threats." Scarlett said, her voice sharp and firm yet she is nervous.
Alex chuckled, he grins as he moved closer to where they were hiding.
"You think you're a threat? You're a distraction. And distractions are easily eliminated." He said giving out a loud laughter his voice echoing in the room.
Nathan moved forward; his voice very sharp.
