The morning sunlight shine in through the tall windows of the West estate's drawing room, casting long shadows on the floor. Scarlett sat at the polished reddish brown table, staring at the USB drive in her hands. It felt heavier than it should, as though the secrets it contained carried a weight all their own.
Nathan entered the room, he stared at her for few seconds before moving closer. He placed a mug of coffee beside her, his expression etched with concern.
"You've been up all night," he said gently.
Scarlett glanced at him; her exhaustion evident.
"I couldn't sleep. Every time I close my eyes, I see Alex, standing there with that smug look on his face."
Nathan pulled out the chair beside her and sat down, his hand reaching out to cover hers.
"We'll take him down, Scarlett. Both him and Grayson. This isn't over."
She nodded, her expression hardening.
