In the morning. Scarlett stood in the kitchen, her hands gripping a cup of tea as she stared out the window. The past few days had left her weary, the weight of their fight settling heavily on her shoulders.
Nathan entered the room quietly. He placed a hand on her shoulder, his voice soft.
"You didn't sleep." He said placing a kiss on her cheek.
Scarlett glanced up at him, offering a faint smile.
"Neither did you." She replied.
He sighed, leaning against the kitchen cabinet.
"I can't stop thinking about what's next. Every time we gain ground, it feels like something's waiting to pull us back."
Scarlett placed her cup down, turning to face him fully.
"We can't let them win, Nathan. Not after everything we've been through." She said holding his hands.
He nodded; his expression firm.
"We won't. But we need to be ready for whatever comes next."
