Chapter 1 - No Class

Your kicks are weak!!!

Hawkins exclaimed, as he looked down on his brother Harden, who lay on the floor covered in sweat, huffing and panting. "At this rate, you won't be strong enough to deal enough damage when you encounter powerful monsters. Even though you have a large pool of mythical force, it'll amount to nothing if you can't use it to deal enough damage. Didn't you say you were going to be the world's strongest?" Hawkins continued to shout at his little brother.

"That's right!" Harden screamed. "I'm going to get stronger to get my revenge and exterminate every single mythical beast there is!" As he spoke those words, his mind trailed back to 10 years ago when monsters invaded Earth through mythical portals known as cracks and wreaked havoc all over. Even spontaneous events created a dome-like structure known as abyss trapping everything within it with monsters. The only ones who were able to destroy these monsters and their abyss were humans who had received mythical force in their system. This made them stronger than normal and gave them unique skills and techniques. These humans were identified as mythical fighters, and Harden's father happened to be one of those fighters. He was regarded as one of the strongest.

One day, a very massive abyss covered an entire city and caused hundreds of people to die. One of the people who died was Harden's mother, who died in order to protect him from a powerful mythical creature. Ever since then, he promised himself that he would exterminate every single mythical creature as long as he lived.

"How long are you going to stay on the floor?" These words snapped Harden back to reality.

"My bad, I was just lost in thought," Harden replied, as he stood up to prepare for the mythical fighter evaluation exam he had. Hawkins took Harden to the exam site where his class was to be identified.

On reaching the exam site, Harden pleaded with his brother not to come out with him. Hawkins was a tall, slender blonde man in his late twenties with hazel eyes. Honestly, he was quite a looker, and the cherry on top – he was strong. He was the strongest platinum rank mythical fighter.

Mythical fighters were classified into various ranks, such as iron, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, and diamond, with iron at the bottom and diamond at the top, of course. There were also the X fighters, who were only seven in number. These were the strongest in the whole world and Finn Blade Harden's father happened to be one of them. All the ranks had stars attached to them, and fighters were awarded stars based on their strength and the results they produced.

Harden, on the other hand, was a tall young man with thick black hair, brown eyes, and a well-defined jawline. He was quite handsome, but not as much as his brother, Hawkins.

Harden took a deep breath and walked towards the site when he heard two familiar voices call his name simultaneously. "Harden!" He turned to find his friends Amy, who was average height with blonde hair and a huge chest, and Raizo, who was also tall with black hair and black eyes. They both waved at Harden as he met up with them, and they all entered the site together.

"I hope I get a good class," Amy said excitedly.

"I want to be in the Samurai class," Raizo said.

"What about you, Harden? What class do you want to be in?" They asked.

"It doesn't matter. I want to be in a class that makes me the strongest," Harden replied with a strong resolve.

"Hahahaha," they laughed at how serious he looked, as they teased him. "He probably thought he looked cool." They continued laughing.

"Silence!!" A loud booming voice resounded in the room. Everywhere was dead quiet as they looked at the man who had mounted the podium. He was a bulky bald man with an eye patch that covered his left eye.

"My name is Quinn, and I'll be your examiner for today," the man paused as he observed the room, then he continued. "As you know, every certified mythical fighter has a class, and each class has its own set of skills. There are six classes in total, namely: The Assassin class, The Mage class, The Samurai class, The Martial Art class, The Warrior class, The Knights class, and lastly, The Brawler class."

"As you know, each of these classes has skills that are accessible by every fighter of the same class. Of course, there are innate skills peculiar to a select few, but you already know this, so I won't bore you with the details."

"When you are called upon, you are to walk up to the crystal in front of you. That'll evaluate the nature of your mythical force and determine your class. Each class has a unique color: The Assassin class – red, The Mage class – yellow, The Samurai class – blue, The Martial Art class – purple, The Warrior class – orange, The Knights class – green, and The Brawler class – amber."

"Inu Kyle!" Quinn shouted. Kyle walked forward, and the crystal displayed a red glow. "Assassin class," Quinn announced.

"Wow, I heard not many people get that class," people whispered among themselves.

Quinn continued to call people and announced their class until Raizo's name was called. "Raizo Shiba!" Quinn shouted. Raizo walked forward, and the crystal displayed a blue glow. "Samurai class," Quinn announced.

Amy's name was called next. "Amy Arlene!" Quinn shouted. Amy walked forward, and the crystal displayed a yellow glow. "Mage class," Quinn announced.

Finally, Harden's name was called. "Harden Blade!" Quinn shouted. Harden walked forward, but the crystal didn't display any color. "None," Quinn announced.
