"Each of these trays possesses the rewards for each and every one of you. But of course, each and everyone of you is going to receive a different reward from me." Patrick said as he looked at the group of youths that were all looking at the trays that have been brought over with anticipation in their eyes.
"Hand them over." The City Lord said as he looked at the group of servants that had brought over the trays.
The servants nodded and went ahead and handed the trays to each youth. It seemed that they had already been informed beforehand on who they were supposed to hand to whatever they were carrying.
Samuel received the tray, before he removed the clothing that was covering it. What was revealed were three different items. One of them was a bottle of pills, another one was a bottle of a portion, and finally, there was a small red fruit as well.
For the pills, Samuel simply read the name that was written on the bottle, and saw that it was health recovery pills. These pills could obviously be used in order to recover the health of a person, in a situation where they were injured.
As for the portion, it was a blue liquid inside a small vial. As for the name, it was an enhancement portion. Even though Samuel did not really know about the enhancement portion, from the name, he could tell that it was definitely used to enhance something.
It seemed that the moment that he went back home, he would need to carry out some investigation to understand the use of this portion.
As for the fruit, there was nothing written about it, making it impossible for Samuel to be able to know what kind of fruit it was. But since William was there, he could simply ask William after he went out of the city Lord's mansion.
Having already looked at the items that had been presented to him, Samuel looked around him, and realized that just as the city lord had said, it seemed that everyone had been given a reward that was completely different from each other.
And at this point, Samuel noticed something. Some of the youths were looking at the rewards that have been given to those geniuses and the super genius with envy clear in their eyes.
Samuel noticed that on the trays of those youths, there were two different types of fruits for each one of them, and a bottle of pills. As usual, Samuel could not tell the type of fruit that they were given. But for the pills, due to the improved vision after becoming a beast tamer, he could clearly see the name.
But he was slightly surprised, considering that the pills were called enhancement pills. Samuel was not really sure about the level of the pills, but he thought that there was a great possibility that they were of a high level as compared to the portion.
Regardless of what was going on, Samuel did not really pay much attention to what others had received. That was what they had been given, and Samuel understood that there was definitely something else within his body that could help him improve.
Additionally, the reward that they were receiving from the city lord were obviously not that much as compared to what they could get if they were from a bigger city.
But of course, it was not going to be that easy for them to be able to receive anything from a bigger city, unless they join the force from there. And that was exactly what the past group of youths had been doing.
It was only by joining a bigger force that they would be able to get the resources that were required in order for them to be able to develop. After all, for geniuses to be able to develop, they would require a large amount of resources, which could not be found within such a small city as Reti city.
As for those big cities, they would occasionally send their representatives into the small cities around them. Then, they would take the geniuses with them, in order to develop them and increase the strength of their forces.
In simple terms, it could be said that the geniuses would change from being members of this city, to being the members of the cities that they would be joining.
But of course, most of the time, they would remember about where they came from, and the families that they had left behind. So, after they had developed enough, and gained enough reputation and power, they would come back and help.
Initially, Reti City was just a small town. But after a genius went and came back, it finally developed into the city that it currently was. But now, all the geniuses that had left before had not yet returned, but all the people within the city believed that the moment that they returned, perhaps the city would be able to develop another level.
After everyone had received their own rewards, they did not stay in the city Lord's mansion for long. It seemed that the city Lord had something to attend to, and had to leave the city first.
Samuel and the others immediately left, and the moment that they left the city lord's mansion, they found that their families were already waiting for them.
Samuel also found that William was waiting for him with a bright smile on his face. The moment that Samuel appeared, William approached him and patted his shoulder.
At the same time, he said, "Quite a surprise I will tell you. This is something that I had hoped for, but I understood that the chances of it happening were quite low."
From his voice, Samuel could immediately tell that William was so excited. Yes, there was still a lot of mysteries surrounding his awakening, but nevertheless, he had awakened.
"Let's get going. You have already received some rewards from the City Lord, right? I have mine as well. Even though the level of the rewards that I'm going to give you are not to the same level as those that have been given to you by the city Lord, but still, they can have an effect on you." William said with a bright smile as he took Samuel with him.
William was not part of the higher ranking members of the city. Yes, he was a two-star beast tamer, but still, he did not really hold an official position within the city.
In order for a person to be able to hold an official position within the city, they would need to undergo routine examination that was carried out in one of the big cities out there. Then, after receiving approval, they would be assigned position according to their power level.
William was not willing to hold an official position, as he felt that it was going to restrict him. Yes, he was going to receive resources from having that position, but that was not what he wanted. After all, he would have responsibilities, and would have to obey orders when asked to do something.
William was someone that liked freedom, and that was the reason why despite being a two-star beast tamer, he had decided not to join any first. It could be said that within the entire city, he was the only one without a force.
Regardless of that, nobody looked down on him. After all, the strength that he had was not something that could be overlooked simply because he did not belong to any force.
Several other two star beast tamers within the city had their own families. Of course, while others had official positions within the management of the city, but still, they had families of their own, having forces to back them up.
Leaving all of that aside, Samuel and William got inside William's car, and the driver drove them back to William's residence.
When they got there, William handed Samuel a small box. He said that within the box, the gift that he had already prepared for him was there.
As for the children, when they knew that Samuel had to become a beast tamer, they were all excited. Ever since coming to the city, they came to know about beast tamers, and they understood that becoming a beast tamer was a guarantee that Samuel would become stronger.
Some of them were also dreaming of becoming stronger in the future, so that they could go and take revenge on whatever had destroyed their village.
Samuel went back to his room, and finally opened the box that had been given to him by William. And, he was surprised to find that inside the box, there was a small bottle. And inside that bottle, there was only a single pill, completely different from the pills that he had received from the city Lord.
Additionally, Samuel noticed that the bottle did not possess any name, indicating that the name of the pill was currently unknown.
Samuel was curious, what kind of pill was this that he had been given? Of course, he did not believe that the pill was going to be poisonous, considering that if William really wanted to kill him, he could have done that easily with his strength.
Samuel might have gotten stronger now, but as compared to William who was currently a two-star beast tamer, he was obviously inferior. It would be impossible for him to be able to resist.
Out of curiosity, Samuel went ahead and opened the bottle, only for something shocking to happen. An extremely thick medicinal scent erupted from within the bottle, enveloping Samuel, leaving him completely dumbfounded.
