Eram forgot all of his concerns for a moment and then quickly walked towards the courtyard where the meeting was going to take place. The parents were set to enter the warp gate about an hour after the morning bell rang.
Once the group got out to the courtyard the first thing they were bombarded with was a massive amount of people. Once again about 40,000 people were there waiting to see their parents. All of the fourth and third-year students came back from the islands where they were training at.
Eram and his group stayed on the outside of the courtyard to not get trampled on. The group found a place to sit which was a giant stone rock that was imbedded in the ground. Eram had a bunch of adrenaline running through his body as he sat there and waited to meet his parents and introduce them to his new friends.
Lila looked at Alexander with a sparkle in her eyes. " You ready to meet Erams and Michaels's parents?"
Michel looked at her with squinting eyes. " Yeah, so I can see what I don't have. I swear you are all more optimistic than I am."
Lila glared at him causing him to shut up and apologize. After the two made up Michael spoke up. " honestly I'm excited to see Erams family. My family wasn't all that amazing to me." Michael looked at all of the students running around playing.
Eram thought about his family and got excited. " I can't wait to see my family too. I was brought up learning about the world around us that most don't get to see. They always told me that I should see as much as I can."
Alexander eager to change the subject away from families due to his past and lack of family started to talk. " Are you guys excited for the tournament? According to my centerpiece teacher, he says we're one of the more likely ones to succeed."
Eram listened but honestly wasn't that excited. Michael chimed in. " My teacher said the same thing. He also said that Rykers' team is also likely to succeed."
Yuki started talking as soon as she remembered what her teacher said about Ryker. " I heard Ryker was also the kid that made a spell within the first hour of class. Now that I think about it I think they also said first attempt too." Yuki was Amazed at how quickly he learned it.
Eram seeing all of his friends having fun made him smile. Lila started to talk. " Yuki, did you know you are the second-best one in the school with spells?" Lila would say she was envious however Yuki was her friend and she wouldn't let some petty rivalry affect her.
" Yeah, my teacher said the same thing. Though I heard Ryker had about 4 or 5 core abilities anyone know what they are?" Yuki asked.
Alexander thought of what he could remember about the rumors. " for one they said he had the highest pho count out of all the students by far. If I remember correctly it was around 30000. He only has one combat ability I heard, though no one talked about what it was.
I'm pretty sure one of his core abilities revolves around spell casting and pho in general. Speaking of pho I think his pho absorption rate was slightly less than Lilas's''
Lila looked at him like he just spoke the devil's language." Does he have 30000 pho? That's insane he would never run out!"
Michael wanted to make sure everything was clear so he decided to speak up. " don't forget spells cost significantly more than cores. And if he is casting spells as strong as cores he would be spending a ton. On top of that, I'm sure that pho storage of his runs out pretty fast when he goes all out."
Eram finally spoke up. " When we all fought Shiela, he opened his mouth and I could feel the air tremble slightly before she broke his jaw and stopped it.."
Michael looked stunned. "I never noticed. That whole fight was an awful experience."
Out in the distance, hundreds of parents were going from the warp gates that surrounded the school. Eram stared at the crowd and looked for his parents.
Cedric appeared and started to speak. " I have set up multiple artifacts that will allow you to see your family and no one else. Please sit quiet and let your parents find you, they have cards that will lead them to you." Cedric vanished just as fast as he appeared.
Eram and the group waited patiently Antilley was off in the distance Eram's parents were there. For some reason the where with two tall people with Blond hair that looked like golden silk when the sun hit it. As soon as everyone saw each other all of the other students in the courtyard vanished including the parents.
Michael nudged all of them to signal his parents were there. Eram talked stunned. " My parents are there too. Maybe they know each other?"
Lila was staining excited and stressed out about meeting their families. Alexander was growing envious and anxious but kept his mouth shut with only the sweat on his back remaining. Yuki was stressed most of all.
Due to Yukis' rough past, she didn't do well with strangers. She kept seeing her parents overlap with the four adults walking towards them. Yuki felt like crying but clenched her fists and hardened her resolve.
As soon as Eram's dad saw him he bolted over like a child. " Eram I missed you!" Yubok was loud enough to make everyone think their ears bleed. " How have you been? Are you doing alright? Are you passing all of your classes? What grade did you get?" Yubok bombarded Eram with so many questions that Eram's brain felt numb.
"Dad relax, I missed you too." After Eram said that his heart rose like it was afloat in an ocean. " To answer all of your questions I've been good, Yes, yes, Double S'. And for you how are you?"
Yubok teared up. " Ahh you know I've been missing you so much! And who might these young men and women be?"
Eram looked at his dad whose hair was fluttering in the wind and thought to himself. ' Damn, I missed this windbag. It's been so hard without him and Mom. I feel so alone and empty sometimes.'
Eram said to his dad " Dad these are my friends, as well as team members."
Yuki looked at Eram's Dad in bewilderment. She was confused about how to feel. On one hand, she didn't want to be backhanded, however, on the other, she wanted to be noticed.
Alexander was also confused but for a different reason. Eram's dad looked like he shone like a star. He rubbed his eyes then when that didn't help connected his senses to his summons. He looked through their eyes and somehow he felt emotions of relief coming from his pets. After feeling their emotional turmoil he rubbed his eyes once more and tried to forget about what he was wondering.
Michael was smiling. Seeing how well everyone was being treated and was hoping his mother and father would act appropriately. He was dreading the fact that his parents might openly just everyone there to let them know how they felt.
Lila was happiest. She had no stress only happiness. She didn't care if she was going to be judged or not. Seeing Eram's dad smile at him made her heart flutter. She thought 'Maybe one day he will approve of me too. I want him to adopt me and Alexander.'
For some unknown reason everyone felt as though Erams' dad could read their thought as he spoke. ". Please don't be stressed. My name is Yubok and I'm happy to meet you all. I guess it's time for introductions." He smiled as he looked at Each and every one of them.
