Chapter 2 - 2- Susan¤

(Rewritten)

Finally getting a good look around me, I noticed several key figures scattered around. First of all was a young man with cracked glasses, brown hair, and brown eyes. I recognized him to likely be one Peter Parker, before his spider bite.

Beside him was a young man that looked far better off. He had a similar appearance, being tall with black hair, brown eyes and freckles dotted around his nose. Harry Osborn.

Now that he was recognizing people, memories started flooding my mind, telling a very long story. My name here was Ray Harper. I was 18 years old in this world, which I was thankful for.

I didn't want to live through my childhood again.

I was tall, being just above six foot tall with a well-groomed head of black hair. My eyes were unusual, so I was picked on in early life, but they were a jade shade of green, visually appearing as blue-green.

The goddess had set me up with a good body too, as she made it so my body worked out quite a bit as I grew, setting me up with a very athletic body.

Finally, I had one more secret, one that I had even hid from my new mother. I was a mutant. Something told me that this had to be what my wish became, at least in part.

It awakened when I was a kid, with me accidentally controlling water coming out of my shower head. Apparently, I had accidently copied the ability of Auquaman, giving me the ability to control water and speak to animals amoung other things, though I never tried.

Moving on, I had yet to receive the Omnitrix, though I guessed that It would arrive soon enough. Or it was just hidden in my house somewhere.

'Bingo.'

(Breaking in here to explain how I'm trying to make different versions of dialog stand out from eachother. "This" means normal speech. 'This' will be for inner thoughts, not telepathic. 'This' is for telepathic speech, being slanted. [This] will be for words displayed in text form. Will be used for phone or radio call. Finally, (This) is for my own input, just like this little section. Sorry for the interruption, just wanted to clear this up.)

"Huh?" Jerking my head around, I looked to see if anyone had spoken to me. Unfortunately, no one was looking at me in anyway, so I was forced to believe that it had been a telepathic message.

'Probably that goddess, which means I need to search my house. Sigh, better get to work then.' I thought to myself.

"Hey, that was some good math you did just there." The girl next to me leaned over, getting my attention. "Think I could get some tutoring?"

The girl in question was beautiful; long blonde hair tied up in a messy bun, simple reading glasses over her bright blue eyes, and a mischievous smirk on her face. "Hi, I'm Susan Storm, it's nice to meet you."

In that moment, I think my brain may have short circuited, as I froze for several moments before I broke the pause, causing her to giggle at the face I was making. "U-ahem, I'm Ray Harper, and aren't you like third in the class?"

From the memories I received, she was in fact high up in the class ranking, having some of the best grades in our year. Susan blushed, not expecting me to see through her attempt at flirting and just accept it at face value.

"W-well I could always use some help?" She said, not fully sure of what she was saying herself.

I had to cover my mouth to cover my laughs as to not anger the teacher and further. Susan slapped my shoulder, a smile breaking through her feigned anger. "Don't laugh at me!"

"Hahaha! I'm sorry, it's just...you didn't even bother trying." I snorted. "If you really need some help I'm here to help, but I'm gonna be busy with some stuff soon."

Susan nodded understandably, but tilted her head a but. "What are you gonna be busy with?"

"Just some personal things. I'm looking for a job on the side, so I won't be around to help all the time." I explained.

While it wasn't the full truth, It was part of my immediate plans. I needed to get some money to really get my plans started, which included getting a separate base of operations set up and possibly a business of my own. Both of which would take an incredible amount of money.

Though, I had a small feeling that I could change that when I got my hands on the Omnitrix. There were plenty of aliens I could use to cheat my way into an absurd amount of money in no time, degrading my immediate plan into a ploy of gaining influence.

"Oh, well I've just started a business with a few friends of mine if you're interested? We've been working under Oscorp recently and helping out with their clean energy projects along with the military." She told me.

I raised a brow, not really expecting that at all. "Really? I've heard some...unsavory things about Oscorp recently."

Sue sighed, her shoulders sagging. "I know, and I've seem some of it, but what can we do? We need the money and the things we want to work on can't be done by some start up."

I nodded seriously, patting her on the shoulder. "If you need, I can drop by and help out sometimes, but like I said I'm gonna be busy with my own things starting tomorrow."

Sue nodded gratefully, patting my hand in return for some reason. "Thanks Ray, I'll reach out if I need it."

I tilted my head in confusion. "But you don't have my number?"

Sue smirked, pulling up her Contacts where she soon showed that she had the entire school's numbers filed away. "My friend Reed is a wizard with tech, and he helped me get everyone's numbers. With all the crazy stuff that happens in New York, you can't be too prepared, right?"

I laughed, shaking my head. "Yeah, that was some crazy stuff that happened over in Harlem. Plus people are freaked out now that Tony Stark went missing."

Susan sighed again. "Crazy world we live in..."

I sighed with her, looking out the window at the cityscape outside. "You have no idea."
