Chapter 5 - 05

The second girl responded annoyed, "How would I know?"

When Ryūta looks at the females now, he examines them from head to foot, but his gaze stays on their necks, where he sees the heavy iron collar that limit their freedom.

He walks up to a girl and pauses in front of her. Eveline is this girl; her long black hair is a little untidy and unclean. Even though they are delicate, her cheeks are somewhat dirty.

Eveline may have been afraid of something and is curious about what Ryūta was going to do to her, as seen by her light brown eyes.

She is dressed in an outdated, dirty brown dress with short sleeves. She also has a few little bruises on her left wrist and forearm.

She was afraid, and her dry, chapped lips quivered a little. Reaching for her throat, Ryūta extended his hand. Her pale pink, dry lips uttered the words paused: 'W—Wait.'

Since Eveline is one of them, the other girls are worried about her and sought to protect her.

On the other hand, when traders gaze at Ryūta's move, one of them remarks to another in a low voice, "He sure is daring, don't you think?"

The first trader asks, As he looks at Ryūta's hand approaching something,

"Will he fondle her in front of everyone?"

Another trader responds, "Nobles are always corrupt and wicked. There are no surprises there."

Ryūta used both hands to grasp the metal collar around her neck.

However, the girls stopped when they noticed that Ryūta was holding the metal collar and not engaging in any mischievous behavior to tempt Eveline.

"W-What are you doing?" was the only thing Eveline could ask him because she was so perplexed.

"Don't worry, this will be quick," he told her as he started to pull hard in an attempt to shatter the slave collar.

The trader was disappointed by Ryūta's action; the trader had hoped that he was going to grope her, but instead he clutched onto the metal collar.

He murmured into the ear of another trader, "I was excited for nothing."

"Is he stupid or what?" The other trader responded and started to speak the facts.

"Like glass, he believes he can shatter the slave collar. Didn't he know that the slave collars are protected by magic and cannot be broken by physical force?"

Eveline saw that Ryūta was attempting to remove the metal collar from her neck, but she knew it wouldn't break, so she decided to stop him from trying.

The metal collar around her neck, however, breaks in half like a wooden rod before she can speak to him. Ryūta wrapped the two pieces of the collar in each hand and began to crush them together.

After a little force, the two pieces of collar broke like glass, and the small fragments fell to the grassy ground.

Now that Eveline's neck was free, the traders' and the girls' jaws were gaping open in disbelief.

Unable to comprehend why he had first purchased a slave and then broken the slave collar to free her, she stared at Ryūta in confusion. What might the real purpose of this person be?

Now that Ryūta is looking at other girls, he approaches Althaea, a girl with blonde, shoulder-length hair, green eyes like leaves, and a light yellow dress that is torn in a few spots.

She is standing and playing with her fingertips in a playful manner, and her eyes are fixed on the ground. She saw Ryūta's feet before her eyes and she looked up to see his face.

Her question to him was straightforward and direct: "Why are you freeing us from the slave collar?Wouldn't it be your loss?"

He answered rapidly, using his palm to remove the dirt from her chin. "The answer is simple: everyone has the right to freedom."

Ryūta's words moved her, causing her cheek to turn slightly pink, her pupils blinking repeatedly, and a slight shaking sensation inside her heart.

He graped Althaea's metal collar, shattering it like glass with ease.

Since there was nothing to harm by being free of the collars, some of the girls who were skeptical of his motives stayed silent.

He stood in front of the girls who were carried to slavery, shattered their collars, took a deep breath, and confidently declared, "The days of slavery upon you are over; you are now the master of your own."

Ryūta turned sideways to face the traders who were observing the entire event. They are still in disbelief that Ryūta managed to break the slave collar.

In order to remind the traders of something, Ryūta said, "Hey, you were talking about something."

Traders were perplexed by Ryūta's statement and asked in unison, "Talking about what?"

Pointing to the trader who had been speaking earlier, he ASAP responded, "Hey, you were talking about some sort of certificate."

Recalling what he had said, the trader explained, "I was speaking about slave-owning certificates."

"However, I don't believe I need those certificates any more; since they are free, neither you nor I own them, am I correct? Do I not?" In a menacing tone, Ryūta remarked.

Afraid by Ryūta's frightening aura, traders said in a hurry, "Yes, sir, of course, if you don't mind, then we will take over leave."

Traders turned back toward their carriage and were about to move when Ryūta repeated his words: "I will make sure you will regret it if you ever try to harm these girls or try to enslave them."

Once more, Ryūta turned to face the little, far residences. Before setting out on his journey, he asked the girls,"Would you all like to travel with me?"

"I'm currently trying to find accommodation in those residences," indicating a few distant houses.
