Chapter 8 - 08

Their bodies were positioned in a circle on the verdant blanket of grass, and they sat in perfect symmetry. There was a tangible buzz of excitement in the air around them, as if it were coming straight from the ground.

Ryūta suddenly flourished, lifting his hands to the sky, and a bright gate of shimmering light appeared in front of them, square in shape. Like a heartbeat, it pulsed, each glint of light more captivating than the one before it.

Every woman was enthralled. The world appeared to darken around them as their eyes widened in wonder, as if the light itself had put them in a trance.

Their senses were overpowered by the ethereal brightness, and the atmosphere grew thick with amazement.

Lilly leaned in closer to Mia, her voice a soft murmur of disbelief, "Did you see that? He didn't even say an enchantment. He just made the spell."

Mia's gaze never wavered from the portal, her voice breathless with wonder, "I've never seen anything like it! No chant, no incantation... just pure magic."

Eveline, who was sitting elegantly next to Lilly, focused on the discussion. She paid close attention as her brain processed the bits of information she had accumulated over the years.

"In the ancient texts I studied," Eveline said, her tone rich with curiosity,"there was a time when magic was simpler. Spells were cast without incantations, fueled by raw will. It's... rare these days. Most people rely on formal enchantments."

She looked at Ryūta with a mix of admiration and intrigue. "But it seems he has revived something thought lost."

Ryūta, meanwhile, had already reached into the glowing portal. His palm hovered within, as though he were searching for something specific. A faint furrow appeared on his brow, and he muttered to himself, his voice barely audible, "What should I create?"

He glanced through the enchanted gate, but he saw no doubt. Even though he was God, this mission was unique. He did not know what the foods of this planet were.

After a brief moment of contemplation, a lightbulb seemed to go off above his head, and his face brightened with an idea. "Ramen," he murmured, "that's what they'll like. It's simple, but it'll do."

He pulled his hand from the glowing gate, cradling a small bundle of logs. The moment the logs materialized, Scarlett's feline eyes brightened, and her whiskers twitched with excitement.

The logs, however, were not quite the treasure she'd expected. Scarlett's golden eyes narrowed in disappointment as she stared at the tiny pile of wood.

She let out an exaggerated sigh, rolling her eyes. Her ears drooped, and she huffed in frustration. "Great. This is exactly what I needed to brighten my day."

The group couldn't help but chuckle at her dramatic display.

Ryūta, however, was unbothered. His voice was calm and reassuring as he carefully placed the logs on the grass, his gaze lingering on them as if contemplating their worth. "Did I say this was a secret?" he asked, more to himself than anyone else. "Well, let's make something of it."

He straightened up, nodding as though the logs had proven their potential. Scarlett's ears flicked again, her hunger slowly overtaking her irritation. She could smell the faint trace of something delicious starting to form. The promise of food had a magical way of silencing even the most dramatic of complaints.

Despite her earlier disappointment, she couldn't help but feel a little spark of hope. The firewood might be modest, but the dinner that would soon follow—now that was a mystery worth savoring.
