Chapter 8 - Meeting The First Ranker.

Drawn to the first ranker's room, he hesitated, curiosity tugging at him. Yet, he swiftly turned towards his own, his jaw dropping at the sight. The room was a luxurious haven, far surpassing his expectations. A medium-sized kitchen, though unfamiliar territory, held the promise of recreating lost culinary delights. With a surge of mana filling the air, he showered, changed, and eagerly settled onto his bed, ready to embark on a new chapter.

Few hours later

The piercing alarm jolted him awake. He fumbled to silence it, only to tumble out of bed. A glance at the clock confirmed his worst fears: he was late. Rushing to the bathroom, he quickly freshened up and threw on some clothes. As he burst out of his room, he collided with the first ranker, Ashley, who was equally flustered. They were both late for gym class.

Upon arrival

Sergeant Silvermane's ire was palpable as they arrived late. The penalty: a grueling hundred laps around the track. Ashley and Tyler, both visibly shaken, began the punishing run. As they circled the track, Ashley broke the silence, introducing herself to Tyler, despite his familiarity with her name. She sought to ease the awkward tension, a subtle display of her social grace.

He, in turn, praised her resilience against the Rift's pressure, his voice laced with admiration. However, she was quick to dismiss his compliments, demanding a more honest critique. Her response, while unexpected, revealed a depth of character and a fierce independence. Lost in their conversation, they exceeded the required laps, their shared experience forging an unlikely bond.

Later, in the weight room, Tyler pondered their exchange. He learned of her tragic past, the loss of her family to the Void creatures. Yet, her beauty, both physical and spiritual, remained undiminished. Her unwavering determination to defeat the Void creatures was a beacon of hope, a testament to her resilience. Little did he know, she was the key to Tyler's plan, a plan that could change the course of their world he was ready to recruit her.

Unknowingly, he had completed his daily task, receiving a notification from his system.

⟨[Daily task completed]⟩

They were given 30 minutes to freshen up and prepare for the next class. He and Ashley rushed back to their rooms to wash away the sweat and ready themselves for the Beast Weapons class.

Upon arriving, he was met with a peculiar sight: a room full of confused and chattering students. A middle-aged man, seemingly oblivious to the commotion, was sound asleep in a chair.

A nagging doubt gnawed at him, a persistent whisper suggesting that the man was not merely slumbering. His intuition, honed by countless trials, pointed towards a different reality. Yet, he chose to suppress these instincts, opting instead to rouse the seemingly inert figure. Before he could execute his plan, however, the man vanished into thin air, leaving behind an eerie silence.

Suddenly, the professor materialized at the announcement box, his imposing figure accentuated by an oversized sword strapped to his back. The once tranquil atmosphere was now charged with anticipation, as the students, including Tyler, were drawn into the enigmatic aura of their instructor.

General Leo, a blind swordsman, introduced himself as their weapons instructor, his voice echoing through the room. A wave of surprise rippled through the class as he outlined their task: ascend to the upper floor and select a weapon of their choice, all within a mere thirty minutes.

Tyler, caught in a whirlwind of confusion, pondered his options. As if by a stroke of luck, a notification chimed, alerting him to a newly acquired skill.

⟨[New skill acquired scan: allows the user to be able to see his opponent's stats and value of an object he was a living treasure]⟩.

A mysterious force, perhaps the universe itself, guided his hand towards a formidable gauntlet, a tool that would undoubtedly shape his destiny.

The countdown expired, and the students, including Tyler, quickly assembled. General Leo announced their first task: a self-sparring exercise. Tomorrow, they would delve into more advanced martial arts techniques. As the students dispersed to find their partners, Ashley approached Tyler, issuing a direct challenge.

The arena became a stage for various duels, each student engaged in their own battle. However, all eyes were drawn to the clash between the two top-ranked students. As they assumed their combat stances, anticipation filled the air. The stage was set for a showdown between two formidable opponents.

⟨[Strength:60]⟩

⟨[Dexterity:70]⟩

⟨[Vitality:90]⟩

Her stats was more impressive than his own,but his Battle memories was not a joke, although he wanted to lose the system trashed that idea.

⟨[main mission impress your professor by making him acknowledge your strength and defeat your opponent for an instant level up]⟩

The air crackled with anticipation as Tyler and Ashley squared off, their weapons glinting under the dim arena lights. Ashley, a petite figure with a deadly short sword, stood poised, her eyes fixed on Tyler. He, on the other hand, was a towering presence, his gauntleted fist clenched, a mix of confusion and determination etched on his face.

The bell rang, shattering the silence. Ashley lunged, her sword flashing like lightning. Tyler, reacting instinctively, sidestepped the attack, his Muay Thai training kicking in. He countered with a swift roundhouse kick, aiming for Ashley's midsection. She blocked the kick with her sword, but the force of the impact sent her stumbling backward.

Seizing the opportunity, Tyler advanced, unleashing a flurry of punches and kicks. His strikes were precise and powerful, each one aimed to disrupt Ashley's rhythm. She defended valiantly, parrying his attacks with her sword, but Tyler's relentless assault proved too much.

A feint to the head drew Ashley's guard upward, leaving her vulnerable to a low kick to the shin. She cried out in pain, her movement hindered.

Tyler capitalized on her weakness, closing the distance and delivering a powerful uppercut that sent her reeling.

With Ashley dazed, Tyler launched a final, decisive blow. A devastating elbow strike connected with her temple, knocking her unconscious. The students erupted in cheers as the professor rushed to the Ashley, signaling the end of the spar.

Tyler stood victorious, his breath ragged but his eyes filled with triumph. He had not only won the match but had also impressed his professor, fulfilling the system's directive. As he turned to leave the arena, a sense of satisfaction washed over him, knowing that he had just taken another step towards mastering his extraordinary abilities.

⟨[main mission completed instant level up received, you are now level 15.+10 attribute points.]⟩

It's kinda nice when he completes his mission and for now it was easy but his fear was about the unknown he knew nothing about the system so he decided to ask again

"What is necromancy?".

⟨[Necromancy is often depicted as a forbidden or dangerous practice, associated with dark forces and ancient, evil powers. Those who delve into necromancy often face dire consequences, both physical and spiritual.

Some necromancers can manipulate souls, either to control the living or to draw power from the dead. This might involve binding souls to objects or creatures, or even stealing life force from others.

Necromancers often possess the ability to reanimate corpses, creating undead servants or armies. These reanimated beings can range from simple skeletons to more complex, intelligent creatures like zombies or ghouls.]⟩

He now knew the meaning of the power he was wielding, how powerful it was.

It made him question his existence.
