"You married Alastor's son?" Linus's voice was soft at first, a whisper that carried more weight than a shout. He stood there processing this. "After everything he did? After what his family stands for?"
Saoirse opened her mouth to speak but he cut her off. His frame seemed at the verge of wolfing out, and his eyes burned with fury. "I will not accept this. They brainwashed you- made you into one of them. They forced you."
Suddenly with immense power, his fist shot out and embedded itself into the wall. It pierced its way through until he hit the brick, allowing Saoirse to see out of it like a tiny window. Linus recoiled at the sunlight and the pain seemed to fuel his rage. It was Alastor's fault that he felt pain when he felt the sun. He used to love being out in the sun.
"HOW DARE THEY TOUCH MY SISTER!!!!!"
"It's not like that!" Saoirse protested, "Sirius isn't like his father! He's nothing like him!
"He saved my life Linus. He's been by my side through everything."
Linus scoffed. "Are you sure about that? Because you're dead. Or haven't you noticed?"
Saoirse didn't flinch. "My death wasn't his fault. He has made my life better than it could've been. Besides, he would have been so alone if not for me."
Linus glared at her as she told him this. "Your life could have been with our pack!! Quit this twisted nonsense way of thinking! Quit defending that murderer!
"There's a reason wolves stopped giving our loyalty to Loki- even if he is our creator. We follow the moon god now. That's how you make it to Asgard. Follow Loki and all you'll get is chaos. We wolves are supposed to be apart from that."
"Leave him Saoirse. Come to my pack and find someone you can have a real life with. I'll protect you. You're not even compatible with a monster like him, you're not the same species, you think you can build a life with him? A family? He probably has a different number of chromosomes than you, that's probably why you don't have kids!"
Saoirse folded her arms.
"I mean it, you have a choice now, you are free. Sirius is just dragging you down."
This hit Saoirse a bit in her heart because she knew she could never be free. It wasn't because of her bond that she couldn't, it was because of Alastor. Sirius can never be free either as long as he lives, running away, that would just make it worse. If they were going to make it out of this nightmare, they had to make it out together. She didn't want to anger him by saying this so she said the next best thing.
"Well I love Sirius and I don't have to listen to you, Linus. Besides, I won't be free. Alastor will come looking for me. You can't protect me from Alastor, nobody can."
He growled deep in his throat in frustration. He punched the wall again and Saoirse truely wondered how in Midgard had the nurse not come in to tell him to stop. She watched him take out his anger at the wall some more, burning himself and kicking it. She purse her lips and frowned. At this rate, the sunlight would hit her. She scooted closer to the shadow and covered herself with the blanket.
"Linus how long have I been gone? I'm sure my husband is worried sick about me."
He ignored this and punched the wall until the nurse did come and ask him to stop. His skin was simmering and he acted like he didn't care. Wolf fur bristled his forearms and neck. His shoes were ruined.
"Why don't you come to my house for dinner?" She asked him. "I'm sure you will like him."
"You still want me to meet him?" Linus asked amazed by her stubbornness. "I bet you think I'd just walk into a trap like that. I'm no stranger to traps Saoirse. I've been Alpha for a long time."
"I just want you to know that Sirius is not the monster his father is. They are opposites. He would never rule that way."
Linus scoffed. "He was raised by a monster. Why would he be different?"
Saoirse didn't know how to argue. She just frowned at him angrily and clenched her fists. "That monster raised me too." She spat.
Linus folded his arms and glared back at her. "I am not coming to your house." Then he left the room.
There was a knock at the door a little while later and the nurse came back. "Here are your discharge papers ma'am." She could see that Linus had left so she asked where he had gone.
"I'm not sure." Saoirse said. She didn't really want to go home without knowing how to find him again, she had many questions and he was her brother, but at the same time she also felt like maybe he would find her again now that he at least knew where she lived. Sirius would be worried. She sighed and got up to leave as well.
"Hey where are you going to go ma'am? Do you have anyone that you can call to pick you up?" It was as if this lady knew how to push buttons people didn't want pushed.
"My husband."
The woman handed her the phone hesitantly and took the papers once she had finished filling them out.
"Mrs.- I don't get in my patient's business and this is probably breaking privacy laws, but you might want this someday." She handed Saoirse a paper with an address on it. "It's the address to my father's house. He really has been looking for you for a long time." Then she turned around and left again.
