Back at the cabin, Linus stood over Sirius's crumpled form, laughing cruelly. "This is the great prince? My sister deserves better than this."
Sirius's vision blurred, but he forced himself to speak, blood dripping from his forehead. "You'll regret this. You have to stop." he growled, his voice weak but defiant. "I'll hurt you if you don't stop."
Linus only laughed harder. "Oh, I doubt it."
Then came the sound of a car screeching to a halt. The door slammed, and a familiar voice rang out.
"Get away from him!"
Linus turned, startled. Saoirse stood there, bloodied and shaking, her eyes blazing with fury. "Touch him again, and I'll kill you," she spat.
"Saoirse, what happened to you?" He dropped Sirius who collapsed to the ground with a groan. He could barely open one eye to glance at her from the side.
"Saoirse…." Sirius breathed, though his breath was stolen by pain. "I'm sorry."
"Shut up!" Linus' foot connected with his ribs and Saoirse winced at the blow.
"Stop it Linus! Stop kicking my mate can't you see it's hurting me too?!!!!" She coughed out some blood and held her sides in agony. Probably all of Sirius' ribs were broken and Linus didn't have a scratch on him. It was like when Alastor tortured someone.
Sirius was losing the battle right now with his beast because now he could see the pain that Linus was inflicting on his beloved and it made him mad. He shut his black eyes and did his best to hold in his steamy breath.
Linus didn't know what to say when he saw Saoirse, his brow furrowed. "how could it hurt you when I hit him? That's not a thing with werewolves? What did they do to you?"
"We're bonded," Saoirse gasped, steadying herself against the car. Her voice was ragged, but her eyes stayed locked on Linus. "I don't have a body anymore. My lifeline is woven to his. That's what happens when vampires make a blood bond, we will be together in every reincarnation."
Linus didn't like the sound of that. If I can't torture him then what am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to make him pay?"
Saoirse staggered toward Sirius, but Linda intervened, quickly handing her a bottle of blood. "Here. Take this," she urged.
Saoirse took a few desperate gulps before stumbling over to Sirius. Her own pain easing, she leaned down and pressed the bottle to his lips. "Drink," she whispered.
Sirius, barely conscious, managed to take a few sips, blood spilling down his chin. The color began to return to his pale skin, and Saoirse let out a shaky breath as her own pain subsided. They gained back control over their beasts, luckily she had come just in time before Sirius accidentally dismembered her brother.
Linus watched them, his rage simmering beneath the surface. His voice broke the silence like a hammer. "I am the alpha now," he declared, his tone icy. "Everyone in my pack answers to me. You think you can stop me from what I need to do?" He pointed a shaking finger at Sirius. "I will destroy every last vampire. Every. Last. One. I will burn their souls so they end up with the Goddess Hel, just like they did to our pack.
Linda looked up at her crazy father. He had always wanted revenge but he hadn't declared war before. Did he expect them to go up against vampires? Many of his descendants had been born to human women and were human like her. Usually they had turned eventually but some hadn't. She wanted a normal life. She sighed.
Once he had recovered Sirius finally spoke. "You want revenge for what my father did then. What kind of a ruler would you be then? You'd be the same as him. He tortures anyone he wants into submission. He doesn't stop, he kills anyone who questions him. I never wanted to be the king someday, but you'd be a fool to think I would let you kill all those innocent people just because you hate my father." His red eyes were glowing. Still, instead of fighting, he stood up, dusted himself off and strode into the house to change his bloodied clothes.
"Don't walk away from me!" Linus yelled!
"Let him go haven't you done enough!" Saoirse yelled. "Just look what you've done!" She pointed to the broken window.
Linus turned towards her, his voice a low growl, "Don't tell me what to do." He turned to follow Sirius into the house.
"I said stop!" She commanded, "You might have made a pack of your own but that doesn't make you the alpha, I am the one who was chosen."
"Is that a challenge?!" He growled.
Saoirse wiped away the blood on her face and assumed a fighting stance. Her eyes looking at him with impending violence.
"Fine." Linus said smiling. "Then let's see who's stronger."
