"What happened...
"Aghhh.. damn it..... My head hurts....
Lu Wuqi slowly opened her eyes amidst the severe pain in her head which made her feel like she has drunk tens of bottles of strong liquor and was suffering from severe hangover. Her head felt like someone was banging from inside out and the pain was ten times more severe than normal hangover.
But she obviously hasn't drunk. Even though her head kept aching but her mind was extremely clear and even her last memories were particularly clear.
She pushed herself to stand up and sat up. She pinched her thighs with a little force and pain coming from her skin made her realise to her suprise that she wasn't dead?!
She wouldn't forget how she died from those tens of bullets piercing through her heart and abdomen when she was trying to protect the little girl from in the midst of a terrorist shooting.
Lu Wuqi was the boss and the founder of a mercenary agency but unfortunately died while performing a very important task which required the boss herself to go.
Unfortunately, when she was was asked to guard a top secret object which was surprisingly a meteorite fragment which came crashing through the earth and fell onto the the India and china border.
In a turn of fate, Before the Indian government could get to the meteorite, The Chinese government was faster than them and got the fragment first.
The Chinese government had their top researchers go there to check what it was but the only thing that came into view was a seemingly strange hexagonal object. The material was unknown and no matter what equipment was used, the researchers and top scientists couldn't figure out what it was at all.
Thus the government could only send soldiers as well as hire Lu Wuqi as she was one of the most famous mercenaries and had a relatively good relationship with the government and she was given the mission to safely escort this object to Beijing where the CAS is located.
But accidents happen when you least expect it.
When they were passing through a relatively remote village in the eastern part of China, They were suddenly attacked by a group of strange people with a black mask on them.
They had military grade weapons and the fight immediately started and it could be seen that they also wanted the meteorite fragment.
Unfortunately, Lu Wuqi and Chinese soldiers were far outnumbered and during the battle, both sides suffered great injury but the numbers of these strange people were more than them.
At the end, Lu Wuqi a few other soldiers were the only one left and because of a huge explosion which shattered their cars as well as the box that held the fragment, Lu Wuqi could only hold it in her hand.
Unfortunately, when she was trying escape from those people, Lu Wuqi suddenly encountered a little girl on her path through the forest. But those people were extremely cruel and immediately started shooting even when that little girl was there.
In a moment of desperation, Lu Wuqi could only block the little girl with her whole body but the tens of bullets directly pierced through her back causing immeasurable pain.
But she gritted her teeth as she didn't want to die because if she died, the little girl would also not be left alive. She could only hold the little girl in her arms as she desperately tried to run.
In that moment of utter desperation, Lu Wuqi didn't noticed that her hand holding the meteorite fragment was flowing with her own blood which was surprisingly absorbed by the fragment!
It even seemed to be glowing with a faint red glow.
But Lu Wuqi was at the end of her rope as her consciousness was extremely blurry and the only thing keeping her mind clear was the cry of fear of the little girl in her arms.
She was extremely desperate but she knew that death would soon come for the two of them as the hurried footsteps of the strange people could be heard from behind.
"Wuwuwuu.... .... " The little girl seemed to crying with her heart out and Lu Wuqi could only say,
"It's okay. Don't cry. Big sis will save you."
Miraculously, after hearing her voice, the little girl suddenly calmed down but held her tightly and the footsteps became increasingly closer as if they were about to reach her.
Lu Wuqi could only pray that a miracle would happen but the strange group of people caught up in just a minute and another bullet was shot which grazed past her right ear causing her mind to go blank for a second as the sound all around her seemed to have gone silent.
Just when, she was feeling helpless, She suddenly felt that the time all around her seemed to have stopped suddenly and everything around her including herself stopped in place as if frozen like a sculpture.
"Tik... Tik.... Tik...
A strange ticking sound came into her ears and the next moment, she felt with her very being that her heartbeat stopped!
But the time all around was still frozen and even the flying leaves as well as the little girl in her arms, even the soldiers running behind her, even the birds flying in the air, all of it was stopped in it's place like a frozen statue.
But surprisingly, Lu Wuqi could observe all these from a third person perspective!
And just when she was confused as to how, she saw that her body was left below! Then she looked down and at herself and saw that she seemed to have come out of her body! She seemed to be in a soul like state, mysterious and ethereal.
"Is this my soul?" She questioned herself but no-one was there to answer.
But how?
Suddenly, her gaze went towards her body but she found that the meteorite fragment was not present in her hand!
But before she could get a chance to react, she suddenly felt a burning sensation in her ethereal hand causing her to look towards there and only to find the missing meteorite fragment in her now ethereal hand!
But the meteorite fragment seemed to be glowing with a red light and its temperature was almost burning and she instinctively wanted to throw it away but found that it seemed to have glued itself to her arm and no matter how hard she swung her arms, she couldn't throw it away.
And just when she was feeling helpless and confused, a strange mechanical voice came into her mind as the meteorite fragment in her hand went directly into her soul and seemingly disappeared?!!
But the voice in her heart caused even more doubts,
"Congratulations to the host for becoming the next successor of the the 'RV Upgrade System..."
But before she could ask what it was, she suddenly saw a flash of light infront of her as the time which was stopped in place before suddenly resumed causing Lu Wuqi to be extremely anxious about the fate of the little girl.
But she didn't have to worry as she saw with her own eyes and heard with her own ears the loud sound of military helicopter above her and looked up to find that the reinforcements from the Chinese government has come.
The strange people were immediately surprised but before they could take another step forward, the soldiers above started shooting which severely injured most of them.
But Lu Wuqi wasn't curious about them as she could finally relax now because the little girl has survived but unfortunately she has died.
"Ohh.. well, dying is not bad. But What's going to happen next." Lu Wuqi was talking to herself as she was feeling relaxed after seeing everything turn out well.
And just in the moment, she felt her consciousness going black before she found herself in this strange place again.

Lu Wuqi was sorting out these memories in her mind and trying to find out what brought her here and from the feeling of being alive again, it could be seen clearly that she was reborn and the only thing that could give her some answers was that meteorite fragment and the sudden mechanical voice in her head.
But just when she was immersed in her thoughts, a sudden crying sound immediately brought her back to her thoughts.
And it was only now that she finally took a clear look around her current environment. She saw that she was currently sitting on a very dilapidated bed with mottled dry blood stains all over it. She seemed to be in a simple and unfamiliar room. The walls around were also covered with mottled blood stains as well as deep scratch marks.
Lu Wuqi looked around and finally her eyes went towards the source of the sound just now.
To her surprise, she saw that there was actually a woman holding a child in the corner of the room!
Even though, Lu Wuqi has encountered a lot of things in the world but she has never experienced this kind of situation.
But suddenly she has been reborn after dying and she hasn't even figured out her situation before she saw a woman holding a child in the dark corner of the room, looking at her with obvious fear in her eyes.
She simply closed her eyes again and tried to calm her mind down and counted ten numbers silently in her mind, and then a strange voice sounded in her mind,
"Congratulations to the host for successfully transmigrating into the new world and in a new body.
The host is welcome to bind the RV Upgrade System. Does the host want to start the binding?"....
