Chapter 9 - Little Yunyue!!

After listening to the words of the RV system in her mind, Lu Wuqi was surprised for a moment before she understood everything it said.

In short, the zombie crystal cores are an extremely valuable resources for her and must be obtained. Meaning, she has to kill more and more zombies in the future.

The benefits of the Crystal cores also made Lu Wuqi feel better just thinking about it but suddenly looking at two zombies lying before her and their bloody head, Lu Wuqi couldn't help but frown and ask,

"Hey, system. Do I need to cut open their brain and retrieve the crystal cores by myself?"

Lu Wuqi was obviously troubled by this question because killing the zombies was one thing but having to cut open the heads of every zombie she kills to obtain the crystal cores seems like a massive waste of time and energy and Lu Wuqi obviously couldn't waste that much time to do something so laborious. She also didn't want to get her hands dirty by this virus tainted blood and opening the skull itself would give her huge trouble.

But she was relieved after hearing the answer of the RV system in her mind,

"Ohh!! Don't worry Host. The system automatically retrieves the crystal cores from the zombies. You can see it in the system panel."

After hearing the voice of the RV system, Lu Wuqi breathed a sigh of relief and immediately called for the system panel to appear in her mind and the blue panel appeared right in front of her and Lu Wuqi immediately saw the 'crystal cores x2' written in the blue panel.

After seeing that, Lu Wuqi turned to look towards Yun Qingyue and saw that she seemed to be in a daze while looking at her.

Lu Wuqi walked towards her and saw the child in her arms looking at her with visible admiration in her large puppy like eyes but as she walked closer towards them, the child immediately shrank her neck like a little rabbit who has encountered a hunter.

Yun Qingyue was even more flabbergasted. After all, even though she has survived till now from the zombies but seeing Lu Wuqi kill them with such ease and the way she showed such decisiveness made her feel a little unreal. After all she has seen before, how Lu Wuqi cried in fear every time they encountered zombies and cowered behind her and always ran without even looking back at them for a second time.

Yun Qingyue couldn't help but feel that maybe she was dreaming. After all, how could this be the same Lu Wuqi who wanted to abandon her and even sell her to Ling Long. But looking at the same face, Yun Qingyue came out of her trance and immediately showed a vigilant look towards her sudden approach.

But before she could even think about what Lu Wuqi was going to do next, She suddenly stretched out her hands and took the child from her into her own arms!!

Yun Qingyue immediately panicked thinking that Lu Wuqi was trying to do something bad to the child and asked anxiously but still kept her voice low in fear of alerting any zombies,

"What are you doing!!"

Yun Qingyue's biggest motivation for trying to survive and live in this dead world is her little Yunyue. Without her, she may have already given up struggling against her fate in this wasteland world. And she always knew that Lu Wuqi didn't like Yunyue and even in the moment she was born, Lu Wuqi didn't participate in naming their child at all. That is also why, Yun Qingyue named her child after her and didn't bother to include Lu Wuqi's name in hers which didn't make Lu Wuqi feel bothered at all, which was expected but still made Yun Qingyue feel disappointed.

And she has also noticed that in past few weeks, Lu Wuqi has been increasingly harsh on the little child and even cursed at her quite a few times. Yun Qingyue could feel that Lu Wuqi only saw her child as an annoyance and wanted to get rid of her.

At this time, The baby has already been held in Lu Wuqi's arms and she seemed to be a little unresponsive for a moment before her pretty little face immediately started shedding tears and didn't dare to make any unnecessary movements in fear that Lu Wuqi would get mad at her again,

"Wuwuwu... " She was about to cry but suddenly remembering how Lu Wuqi didn't like her when she cried, she immediately put her thin little hands on her mouth and looked up at Lu Wuqi with a pitiful look and said in a crying tone,

"Mommy... Please don't abandoned Yunyue...please don't throw Yunyue away, okay. Yunyue will be obedient, Yunyue will never cry. Yunyue also doesn't eat much. Yunyue won't be naughty mommy. Please mommy... Yunyue is scared~~"

Hearing the pitiful voice of the little child as well as her crying face, Lu Wuqi felt distressed.

After more than two months of running around in such a dark world filled with blood and death as well as a mother who doesn't seem to like her at all, even curses at her, tries to throw her away, would probably even beat her if Yun Qingyue wasn't there, all of these are a little too much for even an adult to bear, let alone a little kid like her who is not even 5 years old.

Little Yunyue doesn't even dare to cry or make noise for fear that Lu Wuqi would get annoyed at her or that the big bad guys will come to eat her. For such a little child, all of these factors have left an unimaginable psychological scar in her soft heart.

Little Yunyue was really scared when Lu Wuqi suddenly held her and couldn't help but recall that just a week ago when they were running away from the zombies in the mall and finally found a little safe place. But she suddenly saw an extremely terrifying looking zombie whose whole head was burst open and the insides were literally spilling out, seeing such a horrifying scene, even an adult would screme but she still only cried out for a single moment before stopping but that little sound was enough to alert the zombies and they had to face a terrible situation again which was only reversed after the Ling Long's gang wiped the zombies out. But after they safely escaped, Lu Wuqi back then still cursed her heavily and even pushed her against the shelf causing her head to hit the iron shelf harshly. It was only after Yun Qingyue protected her that she didn't get scolded anymore.
