Yun Qingyue was now filled with doubt about the current Lu Wuqi.
After all, they have been able to survive for more than these two months thanks to only hiding and running away and a bit of a luck. They have never dared to even think of facing these zombies head on much less even think about killing them with a kitchen knife.
This is also the first time that Yun Qingyue actually dared to even hit a zombie directly on its head. It was an exhilarating experience that Yun Qingyue would never forget for the rest of her life.
She doesn't even know how she was able to muster up enough strength to even break that steel handrail.
But what surprised Yun Qingyue the most was the way Lu Wuqi actually cared about the wound on her hands! The Lu Wuqi she knows will never be that considerate about her well being.
Yun Qingyue's hands were still shaking from the tense situation and the inevitable pressure brought by facing a life and death situation but she still calmed herself down as she didn't have the luxury to waste time here. They still had to find a safe place to hide and stock up some supplies and also find a car before to truly escape from the clutches of brother Long's gang. There was also the constant threat of zombies or other monsters that they may encounter which would immediately put their lives at risk.
Yun Qingyue went towards Yunyue and immediately picked her up but her hands holding the little girl was still shaking, not only from the recent actions just now but also because they haven't had enough to eat for days on end.
Ling Long's gang wanted to force them to surrender and didn't even give them enough food to last a single day. All they gave was rotten food or leftovers from their own food but for an omega and little girl, this bit of food was really nothing and didn't even satiate them a little bit.
On the other hand, Lu Wuqi was given a slightly better food than them and it was definitely enough to not make her hungry. But after enjoying the benefits of following Ling Long and eating good quality food full of flavour as well as wine, it was simply a torture for her vain self to accept the downgrade in her food.
The previous Lu Wuqi had a mentality worse than a child. That is also why Yun Qingyue was more and more confused about the current her.
Yun Qingyue knew about Lu Wuqi's personality very clearly. After all, even though they had no feelings between them but at the beginning, Yun Qingyue did put some effort into making their marriage work but living with a manchild like Lu Wuqi who constantly required her to work like a maid, Yun Qingyue simply couldn't bother because of her dignity.
The reason they married in the first place was not because of love but it was the last wish of her grandmother to marry the child of Yun and Lu family in the future.
Yun Qingyue's grandmother and Lu Wuqi's grandmother were extremely close friends till the day they died. They both wanted their grandchildren to get married as their last wish. And Yun Qingyue couldn't refuse such a request because she loved her grandmother with all her heart. Her grandmother also loved her like the the most precious stars in the sky.
Thus, Yun Qingyue who didn't believe in love nor ever had any feelings fir anyone simply married Lu Wuqi while the latter was obviously flattered at first for being able to marry such a cold beauty like her.
At first, Lu Wuqi was enthusiastic to get married not because she loved her but because she wanted to get a taste of Yun Qingyue, a cold beauty omega like her.
But Yun Qingyue herself never had any experience nor did she ever want to fall in love. Because she was very passionate about her career as a lawer and wanted to take on more and more big cases.
In this way, Yun Qingyue and Lu Wuqi spennt most of their time apart. They have never even properly consumated their marriage as Yunyue could be said to be a complete accident.
Of course, that doesn't mean that Yun Qingyue doesn't love her daughter. She loves her to death but on the night of their wedding, Lu Wuqi was very excited to consumated their marriage but Yun Qingyue was always feeling extremely uncomfortable. Thus, Yun Qingyue only let Lu Wuqi mark her temporarily which is done just by biting her glands behind her neck and accepting each other's pheromones.
But Yun Qingyue was immediately disgusted by the flavor and scent of Lu Wuqi's pheromones which was like a toxic mixture of tobacco and alcohol. Yun Qingyue immediately couldn't bear it only after a single bite on her glands from Lu Wuqi and rushed out to vomit in the toilet. That incident also made Lu Wuqi extremely mad and she immediately pushed her violently and rushed out of the house.
They didn't contact for almost a month before they both lived separately due to Yun Qingyue's work nature. Yun Qingyue obviously apologized but it was simply not in her control as the reaction was completely instinctive. Yun Qingyue tried for the whole month to reconcile but Lu Wuqi never paid her any attention and even cursed at her every time she called. And even after they started living separately just after their wedding night till the day Yun Qingyue found out about her pregnancy and even till the day of her delivery, Lu Wuqi didn't show up at all except for some family meetings.
Yun Qingyue spent her entire time of pregnancy by herself. She was extremely shocked at first because she never expected that a single temporary mark would get her pregnant. After all, the chance of getting pregnant due to a temporary mark is less than 2 %.
But Yun Qingyue still accepted it well and never thought about to abortion because it was her own child and she wanted it.
This is how their marriage was. Worse than even strangers. After a few years when their grandmothers died, Yun Qingyue finally proposed divorce and Lu Wuqi happily accepted it.
The day their divorce settlement was completed happened to be on the day that the mutant virus spread throughout the R2 planet and the whole world was immediately plunged into a nightmare like Zombie apocalypse.
Yun Qingyue was a little dazed for a moment while holding Yunyue as her thoughts drifted to the past events but her thoughts were immediately broken by the silent crying of the child in her arms. The child was extremely well behaved as she didn't make a sound even when she was frightened and was crying.
For a little child like her to adapt to this world filled with zombie and constant threat towards their life, Yunyue really did well, even better than many adults.
But no matter how much she adapted, for a little child like her, watching her mother almost get killed by a zombie and the brutal bloody fights, her young heart was still shaken as tears flowed from her bright almond eyes and dropped on Yun Qingyue's hands giving her a warm feeling which also brought her out of her thoughts.
