Slowly and calmly, Caroline walked towards the right side of the asian male. As the crunching sound of branches continued while she stepped, another crunching sound could be heard in front of her compatriot. The light from the sky could be seen through the heavily dispersed trees and the heat could also be felt. The scent from the apples could be smelt, however an unpleasant smell of rotting meat was smelt ahead. As her left hand rested on a slightly trembling shoulder, she looked directly ahead. Her eyes slowly opened widely as did her eyebrows raised.
The cold feeling swept across her face as she was stunned looking ahead. The ground was painted in red. Pieces of human flesh were laying all across the ground in front of her. Fear dispersed all across Caroline's face as her body's temperature swiftly dropped. As her head slowly rose up she saw the top half of a male lying lifeless on the ground. Below his waist appeared as if it was ripped out, only leaving the top-half of a bloody boy's body. With wide-open eyes, her head continued to raise vertically. As her head rose, she saw another sight.
A strong neck supports its alien-like head, both on a huge, 9 feet tall body. Its neck is pink, showing only muscles, it's as if the creature has no skin. Its body sits on two muscular brown limbs, which allow the creature to appear mighty. It has a pair of massive wings, starting from its shoulders and ending at the lower end of its back. Its wings spread over the lower end of the dead boy's body, brown in colour and appearing as bones stitched together. Its brown tail curve on the ground in the shape of a 'c', attached to its spine which is clearly visible. Its nearly skinless head is huge. Its huge teeth could be seen chewing on the dead boy's left hand.
Gulp!
Caroline's eyes started to slowly generate water as she continued staring at the sight in front of her.
The asian's boy eyes were wide open. With a slight trembling body, he cautiously took one step back with his right foot. His sword was clasped strongly in his right hand while his eyes were still fixated at the creature. Caroline's head turned curiously to her left as she gazed upon him. The boy took another step backwards with his left foot, followed by another with his right. Continuing this motion for two more steps, and his left foot stepped on one of the other two boys' own.
With an angry tone, after his right foot had been stepped on, the boy reacted with a high-pitched response, "Dude!"
The three other people's eyes quickly fixated on him.
The boy asked, "What kind of dragon is this!?"
Sssh! Caroline remarked with her left index finger on her lips. She turned back around in the direction of the dragon.
A small roar exclaimed in the childrens' direction, accompanied by strong winds.
The wind's intensity increased as its huge brown wings flapped. Steadily, it rose to the sky, as all four children looked towards its large green eyes. A strong wind blew again as it flew upwards, and to the direction the children were walking from.
.
The asian kid looked to the sky as he turned around. Exhaling heavily, he shouted "Shit! He's going towards the school!"
One of the males behind them shouted "Dude, we need to run before he comes back."
Both males looked at each other then ran off towards the direction they were walking from. The asian kid's body was turned towards the same direction, however he was still. He turned around. There he saw a paralyzed Caroline staring at the boy's body.
He touched her left shoulder with his right hands. "It's Renard…." He gulped. "We really need to go... I know it's sad but we have to deal with this, then we can come back for him."
In an anti-clockwise rotation, Caroline's head turned towards her friend until her face was directed towards his. Water slowly ran down both sides of her face, directed from her eyes to her chin.
With her eyebrows raised and her vision blurry, she said calmly, "...why? He can't be dead, can he?"
The asian boy hugged her as she cried in his arms.
While looking at the boy's body he started to look in the sky, still breathing heavily. "We really…. Need to go now."
Caroline released herself from his grip, then wiped her right eye with her left palm, followed by doing the same to her other eye. She wiped her nose and turned her head in the direction of her dead friend. A slight pink tone could be seen in her eyes, along with a few drops of water. As she stared at his body, she saw the glimpse of a bronze colour. After blinking quickly three times, she looked again. With blurred vision, she saw a sight that glimpsed a sword with an 'axe' symbol on the grip. Wasn't fully sure if it was an actual sword, she tried to squinch her eyes but still couldn't get a clear view. She wiped her right eyes again and turned around.
Exhaled deeply. "I'm… ready to leave now." Caroline confidently said.
A huge shadow slowly casted upon the playfield where many students were. With a slow halt, all students slowly started to look upwards. A huge terrifying brown and pink beast could be seen flapping its powerful wings as it glided under the clouds.
"A dragon!!" shouted many students.
Roars, screams, shouting, could all be heard throughout the school grounds. It sounded like chaos from afar and it appeared that way too, as many students were running towards the buildings. The warrior's building was to the left of the mage's building. The ends of the wall of the warriors' building was built from east to west, as the mage's building was built from north to south. Some students inside the warrior's building came on the corridor to see what was causing the outpour of noises heard outside.
