Chapter 13 - A Time Loop

'Oh...I feel like I'm going to die...'

Harold thought when he was about to pass out due to the long and tedious lecture, honestly, all of this was just too much for him to keep up with. Harold tried his utmost best to keep up with but in the end it proved to be an overdose of information dump for him.

As Harold tried hard to resist falling in the depths of unconsciousness, he slightly opened his coffee brown eyes, a slight glimmer of hope was observed as he found his head resting on a pair of soft laps but suddenly he recalled that there was not even a single female in the meeting...then on whose laps his head was resting on?, he hurriedly looked at the face of the person on whose laps his head was resting on and what he saw was... Zverius?!

Harold abruptly woke up and glanced at Zverius with a comically horrified expression, Zverius just smiled politely to reciprocate Harold's "gratitude".

'I hate this guy, he is too friendly.'

Harold grimaced in his thoughts as he shifted away from Zverius, meanwhile Zverius cleared his throat and briefly glanced at everyone and asked:

"So I suppose everything is clear, isn't it? If anybody has their questions then feel free to ask."

David looked at Zverius with a deadpan expression, his main question was still not answered which was that if the god was an Evyryne then who created the spells and techniques? The most logical theory David could think of was that some entity existed before god who somehow failed to meet the needs of the divine or cursed spell it casted, ultimately leading in the birth of an Evyryne which stabilized because it was able to found or was 'provided' a body that possessed sufficient dark crimson energy to stabilize it and resulting all of this. There were many uncertainties, also the fact that the devil was now in the picture too which complicates things furthermore and it was highly possible that David was wrong but he couldn't help but brainstorm about all of this. It was human nature to research.

"You said that our world was never created for the first time and never destroyed for the last time, right?"

As David was lost in his thoughts, Henry asked calmly but a hint of curiousity was conspicuous in his maroon eyes.

Zverius looked at him, his eyes turning slightly grim. He lingered for a few moments and then nodded.

"Then that mea-"

"It's a timeloop."

Before Henry could complete what he was saying, Zverius interrupted him and then he continued in a grim tone.

"In the library it was stated as a neverending timeloop. Everytime our world was created by these two Evyrynes but the cause for its destruction in every timeline was different but do you all know what was common?"

Zverius narrowed his eyes as the grimness on his face intensified. David stroked his chin thoughtfully and he could come up with only one answer, without wasting any time he uttered:

"Birth of Lykuv and Yuzard and the occurrence of same chain of events till the corruption of god and purification of devil which would be then followed by a different set of events and a different conclusion that will trigger the same beginning."

Zverius stared at David for a few moments and then nodded with a frown and added:

"Yes, that's correct but there is one more thing in common."

"What is it?"

Cerebius asked with a solemn expression as his head rested on his palms.

"Both of the libraries were also always destroyed along with the world; including the servants of the libraries."

Zverius answered as his expression grew somber. Klubius frowned as soon as he heard this and couldn't refrain from asking a question.

"But elder brother you mentioned that in the library it was stated that it's a timeloop. Doesn't that indicate the library remained even after the countless destructions of our world?"

"That's not the right way to think, Klubius. Didn't I say that the along with the creation of world the libraries were created? Also, the libraries might be destroyed but it's successor regains the records of it's predecessor. You can stop the effects of spells but you can't erase a divine or cursed spells' properties, especially those which can't be modified...no matter what.

Both of the libraries are a spell, the Library of Malevolence is a cursed spell and the Library of Benevolence is a divine spell. This world itself is made up of several complex combinations of divine and cursed spells. It's the property of these library spells that they regain the memories of their predecessor. In simple terms, we can just find out that when it was last time destroyed, how it was last time destroyed, who destroyed it last time and just like that we can also find when it was casted last time and who casted it last time.

However, each time it's destroyed and then casted again...it results in the memory loss of it's great predecessor's memories. Basically, we are unable to find about how it's great predecessor was destroyed, when it was destroyed and who destroyed it."

"So everytime it was casted by the god and the devil, wasn't it?" David asked with a deep frown on his face.

Zverius nodded.

"Yes and the time intervals between the creations of predecessors of both of the libraries are different. Also, the number of times these libraries were created are infinite which means that countless times the creation and destruction of libraries have occurred."

'A timeloop in which countless times the same beginning has led to a different ending but still somehow even if all of the endings are different they'll still trigger the same beginning that'll again lead to a different end and cycle repeats...'

David thought while a question arised in his mind, he asked:

"So everytime the libraries are created together, am I correct?"

"Yes, you are."

"Then what about the destruction? You said the libraries loses the memories of the details about the destruction of it's great predecessor and previous ones. If it loses those memories then how can it state that there will always be a different ending? Doesn't that sound contradictory? Doesn't that mean that it's hiding its memories for some reason?"

David shot a series of valid questions on Zverius as a thoughtful look appeared on his face.

"That's what I suspected too and yes, they indeed are hiding something. I do have a theory in my mind. Care to listen?"

Zverius asked with an expressionless look on his countenance. After a few moments of silence everyone nodded with solemn faces.

"This theory might sound a little crude but I think both of the libraries are not an ordinary divine or cursed spell but a primary spell..."

Cerebius and Klubius's eyes widened in horror as they heard these words.

To be continued...
