When with Emma, and the more time John spent with her, the more he began to think about
things, about himself, about the life he led and the path that led him to the present. SnowCorp
was part of his success, a castle formed from a long-term investment, dedication, and
commitment. However, as he spent time talking with the cheerful Emma he again felt the
emptiness that he always experienced no matter the accomplishment. For as long as John could
remember he had dreamed of getting away from his past and reaching a goal that would make
him worthy of holding power together with wealth. But deep inside he realized that he was bored
– bored of the daily stress, of the deceit, and the various forms of cutthroat competition he was
surrounded with.
He told her all about the big price he had paid in order to achieve this kind of success. He
sacrificed friends, family, and apparently one or more lovers because the devotion to his work
meant he had no time for anything else. He had power over people and they had to obey him, it
was a respected job, but it made him lonely, and now he was surrounded by servants whore
didn't respect him as a man but as a successful businessman. Emma, however, was different. For
once she did not see the title of the man, and looking at it through a different pair of eyes, she
helped to start changing his vision slowly.
Emma had her own way of thinking, which is not resourcefulness that comes from hunger nor
from the heart's cruelty. Living a rather poor childhood, she had always understood that most of
the valuable things in life cannot be bought for money. She then also told him what she had gone
through: the hours without sleep spent on bills, the sacrifices for her nonprofit, and the times she
thought she made a wrong decision. But in all this Bo wanted to know how is it that Emma had
not lost her strength to fight and survive. She informed him about her mother and the string she
always used to say, We carry wealth not in our pockets but in our hearts.
Rather she was just a woman whom John met, one evening, as they sat together on the bench in
the park, looking at the skyline.
That is why I decided to create SnowCorp I did not dream of having power he stated quietly his
eyes lost in the distance. They said I was fired because I quit working for them when pregnant: 'I
did it because I was scared.' Feeling scared of not being normal, of not having to fade. I have
never seen my father or at least when I was young, he left my mother, while she struggled in
order to provide food for us. SO LUCAS saw her struggle and said "I will never ever feel this
helpless again".
Emma listened, and her hand lay on his. Thus, you created your empire solely for the purpose of
having someone to shield yourself from," Maria retorted calmly. It goes as far as saying, To
never be in a position where you need anyone.
He agreed finding the letter to be dreadfully heavy, the gravity of that truth sinking in. 'But in
doing that, I've cut myself off from everyone.' It took me years to get to this mountain top and
now I realize I am the only one on the mountain.
Emma looked at him compassionately. 'Sometimes people build cages around themselves to be
safe but the cages get turned into prisons instead." She turned her face towards him; her eyes
were tender, but the expression deeply earnest. John, I understand that people strive for money
and success it is natural. They can affect lives, and bring stability. But they're not everything. It's
the people I know and the connections I might have that are out there; it is the kindness and
meanwhile, it is life that is worth living for.
Her words struck a chord. Emma's philosophy was simple, yet profound: failing wasn't only
about losing or being poor; it was about not being able to make a change, not being able to leave
a legacy of some sort. From her, John started understanding that success is not in positioning
himself for financial benefit, but rather in empowering people, in helping communities.
Slowly, he began to consider bringing his position to a purpose that could benefit more than just
personal enrichment. One evening when yet another day had ended and John came to Emma
again, he asked how her nonprofit was doing. She outlined how hard it is to sustain such a
center—there is little money coming in, numerous formalities to go through, and too many
struggles to supply the families with enough provisions they need as they work with the center.
There was a time, she said, when a single stroke in a hand could be the difference between a
family having a roof over its head or being homeless.
John was all ears and was thinking of what he could do. He suddenly came to understand that
with his money, he could create something with longevity, something tangible that would in
some way directly affect the people whom Emma dealt with. For the first time, it came to him
that he could launch an initiative at SnowCorp, which will be designed to provide support for
community programs, as well as housing and educational materials for struggling families. He
experienced output from the corporate objectives he had for himself but it seemed to be the right
thing to do. And then he talked to her about it and she just stared at him happily, Amazed, and
Thankful.
"You would really do that?" she asked with a surprising tone.
He only responds by shrugging his shoulders with a subtle tilt of his lips. "Perhaps I am trying to
impress you, " he suggested. "Or perhaps, am starting to understand that I actually have the
capability to cause change—something other than revenues and balance sheets."
The brave boy glanced at her and smiled, giving her hand a firm squeeze back. "Thank you,
John. They don't understand how much this would mean to, so many people.
The project began and John watched as Emma put her philosophy into motion While working
together he learned more about Emma's philosophy. He saw the outcome of their work, saw the
families that could start again, and felt satisfaction that he had never thought he was capable of.
The initiative wasn't only about benefiting the community; it was also a chance to change him
into someone better.
As it went on, Emma also brought a great change to the style of leadership under the authority of
John. He grew to be a more caring person, a person who is able to display more concern about
his fellow human being or his actions in a certain decision. As for the organizational culture of
SnowCorp, it also started transforming. Supposititious employees who used to perfunctorize
John as an unapproachable chief executive officer, who actually did not mind their existence and
did not care if they pulled their weight or not, now saw John as a man who cared about their state
and the contributions they made to the company. He even developed some programs in
SnowCorp for the welfare of the employees and for social causes which improved both his team
and gave him the new goal.
From the character Emma, he realizes that actually, he is not so rich if he looks at it in terms of
what he is providing. She taught nudity meant nothing, that people were of immense superior
value to the position, and that every life had inherent worth. Facts state that Emma also got to
learn a lot from John. She understood that desire for a position rises far from being egocentric
because the resources granted allow for fixing problems and improving lives. John share the
lessons he learned about dreaming big and using determination to create value out of nothing
with her.
To balance each other, they were in each other. John's tenacity helped Emma understand that it
was acceptable to aim higher, while Emma helped John avoid contemplating it pointless without
emotion. The love that the two had for each other was characterized by respect and a vision that
made it a force that not only altered the destiny of the twos but that of other people as well.
