Vanessa was shocked when she walked in, later that day and found her mother, father and Aditya waiting for her in the living room.
"Ma, pa? What are you guys doing here?"
"We came to inform you that we'd be leaving for Michigan next week, are you certain you don't want to come home with us?" Rosa asked, trying to sound persuasive despite the concern in her voice.
"Ma," Walking up to her, Vanessa took her mother's hand in hers.
"I'm sure I don't want to go back to Michigan, I'm perfectly fine here."
Rosa nodded her head, knowing that Vanessa was going to say that. "If you ever change your mind, your father and I will be leaving by the end of this week, don't hesitate to let us know."
Vanessa nodded. "Yes mom," She turned to her father and pulled him into a hug, appreciating the fact that they respected hed decision to stay back here despite the danger she had experienced in less than one week.
