The salty breeze of the East Blue carried Alvida's mocking laughter across the ship. "Who do you think you are, brat? Coming aboard my ship with a scrawny frame like that!" she sneered, her massive iron club resting on her shoulder. Her crew roared in laughter, jeering at Luffy, who stood unfazed.
"I'm Luffy. The man who's going to be King of the Pirates!" His voice was steady, but there was a spark in his eyes-a flicker of something Alvida couldn't quite place.
"You? Pirate King? Don't make me laugh!" Alvida swung her iron club toward Luffy with the force of a wrecking ball.
Luffy's eyes narrowed, and the world seemed to slow around him. Observation Haki flared, and he sidestepped just as the club smashed into the wooden deck, splinters flying in all directions.
"That's not going to work," Luffy said calmly.
Alvida's eyes widened in anger. "You little-get him!" she barked, and her crew surged forward.
Luffy moved like a whirlwind. His punches were swift and precise, each one backed by the faint shimmer of Armament Haki. When one pirate swung a cutlass, Luffy ducked, countering with an uppercut that sent the man sprawling.
Coby watched from the sidelines, trembling. "Luffy he's incredible!" Said Coby admiring Luffy
Alvida snarled, charging forward again. "I'll crush you into nothing!" She brought her club down with both hands. This time, Luffy didn't dodge.
He raised his fist, blackened slightly with Armament Haki, and met the club head-on. The impact sent a shockwave rippling through the air. Alvida stumbled back, staring in disbelief at the cracked edge of her weapon.
"What... what is this power?!" she demanded.
Luffy clenched his fists, the aura of Haki pulsing faintly around him. "It's called Haki. And you're not strong enough to beat it."
Alvida roared in frustration, swinging wildly. Luffy weaved through her attacks, each dodge smoother than the last, as his Observation Haki guided his movements. Finally, he saw his opening.
With a deep breath, Luffy lunged forward, planting his feet firmly on the deck. "Take this!" he shouted, landing a full-force Haki-infused punch to Alvida's gut.
The pirate captain's eyes bulged as the force of the blow lifted her off the ground, sending her crashing into the ship's railing. She collapsed in a heap, unconscious.
The remaining crew froze, eyes darting between their fallen captain and the boy who had defeated her.
"Anyone else want to try?" Luffy asked, cracking his knuckles.
The pirates scrambled for the lifeboats, leaving the ship behind. Coby approached Luffy, his expression a mix of awe and fear.
"Luffy... that was amazing. You really are strong!"
Luffy grinned. "Of course. That's what it takes to become Pirate King."
