Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 : Breaking the Chains

Shells Town Marine Base Courtyard.

The tension in the air was palpable as Luffy untied Zoro from the wooden cross. Coby stood nervously nearby, his hands wringing as he darted glances toward the fortress where Captain Morgan resided.

"Do you even know what you're doing?" Zoro asked, rubbing his sore wrists. His sharp eyes focused on Luffy, but there was a hint of curiosity in his tone.

"Yep!" Luffy said cheerfully, handing Zoro his three swords. "We're taking down that Helmeppo guy and his dad, Captain Morgan."

Zoro strapped his swords back to his waist, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "You've got guts, I'll give you that. But Morgan's got an entire squad of Marines at his disposal."

"Doesn't matter," Luffy replied confidently. "I'll handle them. You just do what you're good at."

Coby stammered, "B-but Captain Morgan is supposed to be one of the strongest Marines around! And we're just-"

Luffy interrupted, his grin unwavering. "Strong? We'll see about that."

Helmeppo's Return

Before they could strategize further, Helmeppo stormed into the courtyard, flanked by a dozen Marines. His expression was twisted with rage.

"You little brats think you can mess with me?" Helmeppo sneered, pointing a trembling finger at Luffy. "Father will deal with you personally! But first, I'll make an example out of you!"

He motioned for his guards to advance.

"Zoro," Luffy said, his voice calm but firm. "Take the ones on the left. I'll handle the rest."

Zoro raised an eyebrow but didn't argue. Drawing one of his swords, he stepped forward, the glint of steel catching the sunlight.

The Fight Begins

The Marines charged, their weapons raised.

Zoro moved like a hurricane, his blade slicing through the air with deadly precision. The first Marine fell with a single strike, his weapon shattered. Zoro spun, parrying another attacker before kicking him into a third.

Meanwhile, Luffy darted into the fray, his fists glowing faintly with Armament Haki. He dodged a sword strike with ease, his Observation Haki giving him a split-second advantage. With a single Haki-infused punch, he sent the Marine flying into a wall.

Helmeppo stumbled backward, his cocky demeanor evaporating as his men fell one by one. "W-wait! Stop! You'll regret this!"

Luffy turned to him, his grin widening. "Why don't you fight me yourself?"

"I-I don't need to dirty my hands!" Helmeppo stammered. "Father will

A sudden burst of laughter cut him off.

Captain Morgan Arrives

Captain Morgan strode into the courtyard, his massive frame casting a long shadow. His iron jaw glinted menacingly, and the axe blade replacing his right hand looked sharp enough to cut through steel.

"You dare challenge me, the great Captain Morgan?" His voice boomed, silencing the chaos around him.

Luffy stepped forward, undeterred by Morgan's imposing presence. "You're the one keeping this town under your thumb, huh? Guess it's time someone knocked you down a peg."

Morgan's face twisted in anger. "You insolent brat! I am a symbol of justice! I'll make an example out of you!"

He lunged at Luffy, his axe hand slicing through the air with terrifying speed.

Luffy vs. Captain Morgan

Luffy's Observation Haki flared, and he sidestepped the attack just in time. The axe buried itself in the ground, splintering the wooden planks beneath their feet.

"Too slow," Luffy said, grinning as he launched a counterattack. His fist, coated in Armament Haki, collided with Morgan's chest, sending him staggering back.

Morgan growled, his eyes blazing with fury. "You think you're strong? You're nothing compared to me!"

He swung his axe in a wide arc, forcing Luffy to leap backward. But Morgan wasn't done-he charged forward, his massive frame moving with surprising agility.

Luffy ducked under the next swing, then pivoted and landed a kick to Morgan's side. The force of the blow sent the captain skidding across the courtyard.

"You're not bad," Luffy admitted, his grin never faltering. "But you're not good enough to beat me."

Zoro Joins the Fight

While Luffy kept Morgan occupied, Zoro finished off the last of the Marines. Sheathing his swords, he turned to watch the battle.

"You need help with this guy?" Zoro called out, smirking.

"Nope," Luffy replied, dodging another swing. "But you can cut that big axe off his arm if you want."

Zoro's smirk widened. "Now you're talking."

Drawing his swords, Zoro dashed toward Morgan. The captain turned to intercept him, but Luffy capitalized on the distraction. With a burst of speed, he landed a powerful Haki-infused punch to Morgan's stomach, knocking the wind out of him.

Zoro seized the opportunity, his blades flashing as he sliced clean through Morgan's axe. The weapon clattered to the ground, leaving Morgan defenseless.

The End of Captain Morgan

Morgan collapsed to his knees, clutching his chest. His pride as a Marine shattered alongside his weapon.

"You... you'll regret this..." he gasped, glaring up at Luffy and Zoro.

Luffy tilted his head. "Nah. I don't think so."

With one final punch, Luffy knocked Morgan unconscious.

Aftermath

The courtyard fell silent. The remaining Marines, realizing their captain had been defeated, dropped their weapons and fled.

Coby approached cautiously, his eyes wide with disbelief. "You... you really did it! You defeated Captain Morgan!"

Luffy grinned. "Told you it'd be easy."

Zoro sheathed his swords and turned to Luffy. "You're crazy, but you've got guts. I like that. Guess I'll stick with you for a while."

Luffy's grin widened. "Good! Let's go find the next adventure."
