Over an hour later, Aunt May had drifted off to sleep, satisfied.
Su Yu shook his head and silently commended his "little brother" for its hard work.
After freshening up, he lay down next to Aunt May, thoughts racing in his mind.
Natasha's appearance was a clear signal.
It meant that many people had started paying attention to him, though for now, they seemed content to simply observe.
But if he were to take any reckless actions...
"If soldiers come, we'll counter with generals; if floods rise, we'll block them with earth! I won't let anyone control me anymore!"
Resolve flickered in Su Yu's eyes as he tightened his arms around Aunt May and drifted into rest.
Time flew by, and soon the weekend arrived.
Unexpectedly, Su Yu received a call.
The caller ID showed it was Gwen. The young girl invited him out on a "date," using the excuse of wanting to thank him.
"Let's meet at Times Square. I'll head over now," Su Yu replied with a smile before leaving the house.
Aunt May had been holding back for days, refraining from calling him.
After all, their nightly indulgence had taken a toll. Su Yu, strengthened by enhancements, was fine—but poor Aunt May could barely get out of bed.
Unable to endure further, she declared a moratorium, leaving Su Yu to spend a few days in solitude.
Times Square
The bustling heart of New York City, vibrant with commerce and thrumming with energy, filled with people coming and going.
As soon as Su Yu arrived, his eyes spotted Gwen amidst the crowd.
Today, Gwen looked especially stunning.
Her youthful high-school charm, paired with jeans and a white blouse, made her look refreshingly radiant.
Though young, her figure had already begun to blossom into graceful maturity.
"Mr. Su, over here!"
Spotting Su Yu from afar, Gwen waved and jogged over.
She was slightly out of breath, her cheeks flushed a delicate red—whether from exertion or shyness, it was hard to tell.
"Gwen, you look absolutely beautiful today," Su Yu praised her with a warm smile.
"Ah, I... I don't think so..."
Caught off guard, Gwen's face turned even redder, though her heart swelled with joy.
"Heh, I don't lie," Su Yu said earnestly. "Whoever gets a girlfriend like you is truly blessed."
His gaze briefly dipped to Gwen's modest chest.
Small, but plenty of room for growth, he thought. And a legal loli? Even better.
"Mr. Su, you're teasing me..." Gwen stammered, lowering her head, her voice soft as a whisper.
She didn't dare meet Su Yu's eyes.
Su Yu chuckled and began walking with Gwen through Times Square.
The area was lively as ever, especially with it being the weekend. Couples abounded, but Su Yu and Gwen drew even more attention.
Gwen's youthful charm was undeniable, her energy amplifying her appeal.
As for Su Yu, his natural charisma and aura made him the target of countless admiring glances from women.
Many even mustered the courage to approach him, hoping to strike up a conversation.
Normally, Su Yu might entertain a charming stranger, but today, his focus was solely on Gwen.
"Sorry, I already have a girlfriend," he declared firmly to one particularly persistent woman, taking Gwen's small hand in his own for good measure.
His tone left no room for argument.
"Oh... okay," the woman muttered, reluctantly walking away.
Gwen's face turned crimson, her heart pounding wildly as Su Yu's words replayed in her mind:
"I already have a girlfriend."
A girlfriend? Does he mean... me?
Gwen felt as though she was completely melting.
"Come on, Gwen, let's grab a coffee," Su Yu said, flashing her a gentle smile.
The two found a nearby café and settled in.
What Su Yu didn't notice was the shadowy figure following them.
The moment their hands intertwined, the onlooker's resolve shattered.
"Gwen... my goddess!"
Peter Parker's heart broke as he watched the scene unfold. Crushed, he turned to leave, his spirit in tatters.
Unaware of Peter's presence, Su Yu sipped his coffee, unconcerned.
Even if he'd known, he wouldn't have cared—he'd anticipated this moment long ago.
Besides, there were probably S.H.I.E.L.D. agents monitoring him too.
Just as Peter prepared to leave, chaos erupted in Times Square.
A loud explosion shattered the lively atmosphere.
A manhole cover shot into the air, sewage splashing everywhere.
Before anyone could react—
Swish, swish!
A green figure darted out from the sewer.
It was a lizard man, walking upright.
"Raaagh!!!"
Only now did the surrounding people react, their screams of terror filling the air.
Panic broke out as the crowd scattered, desperate to escape the monstrous creature.
"Silence! Be quiet, all of you!" the lizard professor hissed angrily.
His bloodshot eyes glowed with violent rage, primal instincts bubbling to the surface.
The noise only fueled his agitation.
Suddenly, he lashed out with a clawed hand, sending a nearby trash can flying.
It struck an unlucky bystander, who crumpled to the ground with a scream of pain.
The sight of destruction only heightened the creature's thirst for chaos.
"Pathetic insects! Tremble and wail!" the lizard professor roared with maniacal laughter.
Just as he lunged toward the fleeing crowd—
Thwip!
A web shot through the air, binding his legs.
The lizard professor stumbled and fell.
Swinging down from above, Spider-Man landed heroically.
The newcomer, of course, was Peter Parker.
