Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Gwen's First Kiss! Parker Cries!

With a thunderous boom, the air cannon roared like a bolt of lightning, sending the Lizard flying.

The creature smashed through a wall and crashed into a shop, leaving everyone around dumbfounded.

"What the…?!"

Peter Parker was stunned, feeling like a complete clown.

He had been struggling against the Lizard for what felt like forever, giving it his all.

Then Su Yu showed up, casually unleashed some unknown power, and defeated the Lizard in one blow.

The stark contrast left Peter emotionally devastated.

Just moments ago, he had been eager to show off and bask in glory.

Instead, the truth hit him hard: The real joke here… is me.

In stark contrast, Gwen was ecstatic.

"Mr. Su, that was amazing!"

She ran out of the café, practically glowing with excitement.

Gwen approached Su Yu, her eyes filled with admiration. At that moment, she had transformed into his number-one fangirl.

"Oh my gosh, Mr. Su, you're incredible!" she gushed, her face full of awe.

Overwhelmed by emotion, Gwen instinctively leaned closer and kissed him.

It was a completely subconscious act.

When she snapped back to reality, her eyes widened in shock, her long lashes trembling.

Her cheeks burned red-hot as she tried to pull away, but Su Yu gently held her in place.

The two shared a passionate kiss, oblivious to the world around them.

Like a couple madly in love, their embrace dispelled the fear lingering in the air.

Clap, clap, clap!

Applause erupted from the rescued bystanders, with some even whistling.

The only one left in stunned silence was Peter Parker.

"No! I was here first… Why?!"

On what he thought was his stage, Peter realized he had been entirely sidelined.

With his heart broken, he resigned himself to stepping away.

Just then, the sound of approaching police sirens filled the air.

Su Yu finally let go of Gwen, whose slightly parted lips quivered as she caught her breath.

Her face was glowing pink, her eyes brimming with pure affection and tender love.

"Let's leave," Su Yu said softly, taking Gwen's hand and quickly leading her away.

Moments later, the police arrived.

George Stacy stepped out of his car, surveying the destruction with a grim expression.

"Search the area thoroughly. Stay on alert!" he ordered.

"Yes, Captain!" the officers responded, immediately beginning their investigation.

A short while later, one officer approached, looking a bit awkward.

"Captain, the nearby surveillance cameras were all damaged, but we found footage of the creature escaping from a shop's security feed."

"Understood," George replied, nodding solemnly as his brows furrowed.

Another monster attack…

He knew it wouldn't be long before S.H.I.E.L.D. would take over the case, and he'd lose jurisdiction.

Leaving a team behind to reassure the public, George led the rest of his squad back to headquarters.

Meanwhile...

Su Yu and Gwen had left the scene. They decided not to continue their date, considering how shaken Gwen was.

After comforting her, Su Yu walked her home. At the door, Gwen hesitated, her face flushed as she murmured shyly:

"Su Yu… Would you like to come in? My dad's not home."

"Not home?"

Su Yu raised an eyebrow, a faint smile playing at the corners of his lips.

Her meaning was clear.

But seeing Gwen's bashful expression, he chuckled inwardly.

Gently patting her head, he replied, "You should get some rest. Next time, okay?"

Gwen nodded slightly, her face turning an even deeper shade of red.

At the same time, she breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

As much as she wanted to invite him in, she wasn't sure how she would handle it if he said yes.

Though she was a bit disappointed, she was also happy.

To her, Su Yu's refusal proved he wasn't someone who acted impulsively. He was a gentleman through and through.

Su Yu, meanwhile: Wait, me? A gentleman?

After seeing Gwen safely inside, Su Yu strolled the streets alone for a while before heading home.

He still hadn't collected his reward for defeating the Lizard.

"System, start searching for trading partners," Su Yu instructed mentally.

At the same time, he sent a message to Doraemon, thanking him for lending the air cannon.

Doraemon's gadgets were truly extraordinary.

The air cannon had instantly scared off the Lizard.

Though its damage output was limited, its visual and psychological impact was unmatched.

And it saved Su Yu the trouble of using a strength-enhancing potion.

After issuing his instructions, Su Yu returned home.

In the living room, Aunt May was watching TV.

"Oh, you're home early. Didn't you have work today?"

Su Yu sat down beside her and casually pulled her into a hug.

"Careful," May protested, wriggling free. "Peter's home. He came back looking all mopey—probably had his heart broken."

"Peter? Who knows?" Su Yu replied with a faint smirk, suspecting the reason.

"Boys his age are bound to have a few crushes. He'll get over it."

"True, just like someone else I know," May quipped teasingly, narrowing her eyes at him.

Suddenly, she sniffed the air, her expression turning suspicious.

"Why do you smell like another woman's perfume?"

"Jealous, are we?" Su Yu teased, locking eyes with her.

"Why would I care?" May retorted, turning her head away. "Not like it matters to me."

"In that case, maybe I should rest tonight. I have a date tomorrow, after all," Su Yu said with a mischievous smile, standing to leave.

But May clung to him, her entire body pressing against his as she growled:

"I forbid it! You're mine, and tonight I'm keeping you all to myself. Let those other women starve!"
