"There is no flipping way I am doing that." She declared, hands folded as she eyed me–hard. Her tone was so sharp that I almost gave up. Almost.

"Rayah, puhleeeeeease. I need to get it back." I begged shamelessly.

"And you will, at sunrise, when there is some light." She went back to picking up her clothes. I could swear her room was always littered with them. I wondered why she even had a wardrobe.

"What if a bear gets to it??"

"Bears won't wander that close," she answered offhandedly, not even sparing me a glance.

"What if a bird flies away with it?"

"Birding activities are low at night, that won't happen."

"What if squirrels run off with it?" The possibilities were endless, I couldn't sleep, knowing it was down there and not up here with me.

"Good riddance then, you're not the only one in need of some warmth."
