Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: A Starry Accident

The Mission of an Alien

An energetic and resourceful extraterrestrial from Planet Cape Town named Chai Xiaoqi was tasked with gathering Earth's unique air samples. Resources from far-off worlds were essential to her planet's highly developed society, and Xiaoqi was picked because of her courage, intelligence, and—well, a little awkwardness.

Her spaceship, a sleek silvery pod blazing with extraterrestrial markings, sailed like a comet across the cosmos. Inside, Xiaoqi hummed a song while tinkering with her devices and keeping an eye on Earth via her holographic dashboard.

"Earth appears very vibrant! Her eyes glistened with interest as she remarked, "I can't wait to see what makes it so unique." However, her joy was short-lived as an unexpected meteor shower threw her ship off course.

The Landing Crash

The meteors struck hard, causing the spacecraft to tremble. Alarms went off, sparks erupted, and Pi Pi, Xiaoqi's little robot sidekick, buzzed uneasily. "Caution! malfunction in the system. An emergency landing has begun!

"Pi Pi, hold on! I'm capable of this! Xiaoqi cried out, clutching the controls. Despite her best attempts, the ship fell into Earth's atmosphere, leaving a tiny crater behind as it smashed into a peaceful, verdant rural area, leaving behind smoke and light.

With her glittering space suit adjusting to the gravity and environment of Earth, Xiaoqi slithered out of the debris. She brushed off the dust and looked around, her antennae shining dimly.

She exclaimed, "What a strange but beautiful place!" with awe in her voice. She was astounded by the gentle rustle of leaves and the chirping of crickets. She reached out, her outfit creating a holographic chart. "All right, folks on Earth, I'm coming!"

Exploring Earth

Xiaoqi's natural interest took her to neighboring farms and waterways. From the flowing streams to the buzzing bees, she was astounded by the variety of living forms.

She once kneeled down next to a flower and prodded it with a lighted instrument. "What vivid hues! She asked out loud, "Are these edible?" as she picked up a petal and chewed on it before spitting it out a few seconds later. "Bleh! Not food, of course!

She watched people from a distance, fascinated and perplexed by their peculiar ways. She was frightened by a tractor-riding farmer and immediately hid amid the trees. "These animals make a lot of noise! How do they manage to live?

The Signal Orb is disappearing

When she looked around, Xiaoqi discovered that her signal orb—a glowing instrument that was essential for communicating with her planet—was gone. In a panic, she turned around and finally saw it drifting down a river.

"No, no, no! She screamed, "Not my orb!" and ran after it. She was able to jump over fallen logs and rocks thanks to her extraterrestrial agility, but her awkwardness did more harm than good. She stumbled, tumbled into the water, and came out wet but unflinching.

A herd of cows stomped away from her after becoming frightened by her antics. "Big creatures, I'm so sorry!" she exclaimed, making a dramatic bow before continuing her pursuit. Unfortunately, Xiaoqi was discouraged when the orb vanished into the distance.

She mumbled as she sank onto the grass, "Great, now I'm stranded on this crazy planet."

Getting to know Fang Leng

Xiaoqi strolled into the city as night fell, her wide eyes reflecting the brilliant lights. Even though the bustling streets and tall buildings overshadowed her, the energy of human life drew her in.

When she finally found herself on a bridge, she saw the incredibly attractive CEO, Fang Leng, gazing into the river below. The luminous scarf around his neck caught Xiaoqi's attention, and he was unaware of his brooding manner.

"A cloth that emits light! Is that technology from another planet? She leaned closer and whispered. It wasn't until the wind wafted his scarf in her direction that Fang Leng, who was deep in meditation, noticed her.

"Hey! He yelled, "That's mine!" and jolted her out of her reverie. In a panic, Xiaoqi automatically used her time-freezing power.

Their surroundings came to a standstill—leaves froze in midair, cars stopped in mid-motion—but Fang Leng, untouched by her abilities, gazed at her in disbelief.

"What the fuck? He demanded to know who you were. When she realized her error, Xiaoqi quickly unfrozen time, leaving him perplexed as she ran off.

Anarchy in the City

As Xiaoqi ran around the city, he produced several amusing mishaps:

• She became stranded spinning in circles after mistaking a revolving door for a human transportation mechanism.

• Believing that a traffic light was a sentient entity, she attempted to speak with it.

• She made a scene when she went into a restaurant and started eating odd food off of other people's plates.

Xiaoqi's interest and innocence were evident despite the pandemonium. Laughing as the stray dog wagged its tail, she even paused to pet it. "You're far more amiable than Little Earth creature, the cows!

Fang Leng's Interest

Meanwhile, Fang Leng, now captivated by the strange girl who stopped time, instructed his loyal assistant Jiang Xue to track her down. His tone was a mixture of curiosity and resolve as he stated, "I don't know who she is, but she's not normal."

Xiaoqi gazed up at the stars from her hiding place, a small, deserted shed she found on the outskirts of the city. She vowed to adjust to this new globe even though her heart hurt for her own planet. Cape Town, don't worry. I will find a way to return. But I have to figure out these humans first!

Final Scene

The chapter concludes with a striking analogy:

• With unyielding resolution, Xiaoqi gazed at the stars.

• Standing near his window, Fang Leng is staring up at the same sky while thinking about the enigmatic girl who completely upended his life.

Now that their fates were linked, none could predict the flurry of feelings and mayhem that would follow.
