Earth's morning
When Chai Xiaoqi woke up, the dusty shed she had used as a makeshift refuge was filled with the first rays of morning. As her silvery suit adjusted to the conditions of Earth, it gave off a little shimmer in the sunshine. Her antennas twitched as they detected weak signals from adjacent radio towers as she stretched.
"So loud... Don't humans actually live in a state of chaos? As the distant sound of honking automobiles reverberated, she grumbled and winced. Her curiosity, however, prevailed, and she made the decision to continue exploring the city she had wandered into the previous evening.
There was a rumbling rumble in her gut. "First, food! Later, I'll work out the rest.
A Hungry Extraterrestrial in the City
Xiaoqi entered a busy street market and was enthralled with the vibrant exhibits and numerous kiosks selling sizzling cuisine, fruits, and veggies. Her eyes brightened at the mouthwatering scent as she followed her nose to a dumpling booth.
"What is this? It has a wonderful scent! She grabbed a dumpling off of someone else's plate without thinking and took a large chunk.
The plate's owner, a grim-faced old guy, yelled, "Hey! That costs you money!
"Pay? What is the salary? Is it a particular kind of dumpling? With her mouth still full, she inquired naively.
The crowd gathered fast because of her lack of knowledge, and the stall owner summoned market security before she could explain. As the soldiers pursued her, Xiaoqi fled in a panic, shoving more dumplings into her pocket.
The Morning of Fang Leng
In the meantime, Fang Leng, the calm and careful CEO of Fang Group, was following a rigorous schedule to start his day. Jiang Xue, his assistant, gave him the itinerary for the day.
"You have lunch with Mr. Wang after your meeting with the board at 9 AM. Will you be able to attend a business dinner this evening?
"No need. "Reserve my evening," Fang Leng curtly said. He was thinking about the weird girl he had met last night rather than his job. She had stopped time, and he couldn't get the picture of her flashing antennae out of his head.
A news broadcast read, "Mysterious light spotted in the countryside last night—UFO rumors abound!" on the television in his workplace while he was drinking his coffee.
He shut his eyes. It appears that I wasn't the only one experiencing the pandemonium. Learn more about this. He gave Jiang Xue instructions on the alleged UFO sighting.
The Accident on the Street
After her adventure, Xiaoqi found herself at a crowded intersection, where she stood staring at the traffic lights once again and attempting to figure out why they were there. "Green indicates go, red indicates stop." However, why do people pay attention to a pole? "Are they under hypnosis?" she asked out loud.
She was so preoccupied that she unintentionally crossed the street, right in front of a car. Slamming on the brakes, the motorist almost missed her.
It just so happened that Fang Leng's vehicle was just behind the action. His normal composure gave way to annoyance as he walked outside. "What's happening here?"
His irritation transformed into incredulity upon seeing Xiaoqi. "You again? Are you keeping up with me?
A broad smile spread across Xiaoqi's face as she blinked in realization. "Oh! It's the man in the bright scarf! Hi, buddy!
"Friend? You almost had an accident! Are you able to cross a roadway at all? Fang Leng lost his temper.
"Obviously! With a nervous giggle, she remarked, "I just... forgot the rules for a second."
The first car's driver began shouting at Xiaoqi before Fang Leng could react. Unfazed, she silenced him with her time-freezing power, leaving only Fang Leng unscathed once again.
He gazed at her in disbelief. "You... Who are you?
An Agreement Is Reached
Xiaoqi swiftly unfrozen time after realizing her error, leaving the irate motorist bewildered but unhurt. With a beseeching expression in her eyes, she turned to face Fang Leng.
"Hey, I'm new over here. I need help, but I don't mean any damage. Are you able to instruct me? How can one coexist with people? With a theatrical clasp of her hands, she requested.
Why ought I to? Fang Leng crossed his arms and said, "You're nothing but trouble."
"Because... Remember how I saved your life last night? She tried to seem convincing by lying.
Unconvinced, Fang Leng raised an eyebrow. "I can't recall you keeping anything. But I need answers, and you're weird. Alright. Reluctantly, he answered, "You can remain near, but don't cause any more trouble."
Xiaoqi clapped her fingers and smiled. "Hooray! Light-scarf pal, thank you! I swear that I won't let you down.
As he made his way back to his car, Fang Leng whispered "Stop calling me that."
Getting Used to Human Life
Fang Leng showed Xiaoqi his abode, a slick, contemporary room with all the latest technology. "You may remain here, he answered firmly, "but only until I discover who—or what—you are."
Xiaoqi began exploring right away, marveling at the automated lighting and prodding at the smart electronics. When she finally located the refrigerator, she was astounded by how much food was inside.
"You people are really fortunate! "You store food in cold boxes!" she said, taking out random objects and taking a whiff.
"Stop it! Fang Leng pulled the food away from her and reprimanded her, saying, "This is not a game."
He was frustrated, but he couldn't help but observe her innocent awe. Even though she completely upended his life, there was something strangely charming about her.
Final Scene
Xiaoqi sat at the window and gazed at the stars as night fell. She was a little homesick, but she pushed through it and put it aside. "I'll work this out. She muttered to herself, "I'll return to Cape Town someday and tell everyone about this amazing planet."
Fang Leng, in the meantime, watched her from a distance, his thoughts buzzing with inquiries. This girl was who? What did she have to do with the weird things going on around him? And why did she evoke feelings in him that he hadn't experienced in years?
In ways neither of them could have predicted, their worlds were starting to intersect, laying the groundwork for the turbulent trip that lay ahead.
