He was a monster, and his gentleness was just a hallucination. After all, whenever he killed someone, he would be gentle with them, apologizing and making his victim even more terrified. He was a lunatic.
"Daniel, can I get my phone?" Kia asked in a tiny, timid voice, not wanting to do anything that would annoy him. She noticed his gaze turn to her, and she swore she pushed herself closer to the bed, which was already close to her. But she was scared; what could she do?
Daniel looked at her, not tearing his gaze away from her timid, watery eyes that shook. She looked so miserable, and suddenly, for the first time, he felt guilty for being so harsh with her. Instead of answering her, he caressed her cheek. "I'm sorry," he apologized, but it only made her more scared.
"Don't worry, I'll take you home soon, okay?" he said, and hearing that, Kia felt relieved. "Can... can we go now?" she stuttered. He didn't answer her but rather asked a question, "Are you scared of me?"
"Of course not," she lied, yet her voice betrayed her. "Do you hate me?" he asked. Once again, she shook her head, lying. "Don't get involved with other men, okay?" he said calmly. Kia didn't want to nod, but her instinct for survival kicked in, and she nodded her head vigorously.
He cupped her face and planted a kiss on her lips. "Come with me," he said, and she obediently followed him as he led her to the kitchen. He sat her on a stool, then, as she sat, he cooked. Kia was shocked; she hadn't seen a man cook except for well-known chefs.
She watched him, and at that moment, her fear dissipated for a while as she watched him skillfully cook. Suddenly, he turned and caught her staring, making her look away, her cheeks burning. She swallowed, and as he approached her, she noticed it from her side gaze and didn't know what to do. He was smiling as he approached, making her look at him, and then he put a spoon with soup into her mouth.
Then he raised his brows, as though asking her how it tasted, but she just stared for a while before looking away. She wanted to slap herself. This man was definitely a demon; she had only watched him cook for a while, and just like that, her fear had dissipated, and she was actually salivating at his beauty. What a mess.
"Kia... he is dangerous," she shouted inwardly.
"Is it bad?" she heard him ask, and looked at him; he was frowning. "Ha... no, it's good, very good," she said, although it was to please him, she was also being honest. He smiled at her and went back to cooking.
After a while, the meal was ready, and they both sat down. Kia dug in first, realizing she was hungry. She hadn't eaten anything since morning and had only drunk wine from the party. As she ate, she soon realized there was no movement from the other party; she looked up. He was indeed not eating but rather staring at her.
She almost choked on her food, and he handed her a glass of water that she immediately took and gulped down her throat. "Can you eat slowly?" he roared, and for a while, it scared her. Why was he shouting at her? It was his fault.
She bowed her head, not daring to look up anymore, like a child throwing a tantrum. She heard Daniel sigh. "Okay, I'm sorry, my fault," he said, but she did not move. Suddenly, he stood up, making her raise her head and look at him as he moved towards her. She thought he would hurt her and stood up.
But before she could have any other thought, he pulled the seat and sat on it, then he pulled and sat her on his laps, shocking her. He got a spoonful of the soup and brought it towards her mouth to feed her, but she tried to stand up, wanting to reject him. However, he held her back.
"Should I feed you another way?" he said, and noticing he was losing his temper once again, Kia listened, and he fed her. Even though she said she was now full, he would threaten to feed her another way, and she had no choice but to let him feed her till all the food was gone, including his bowl. She had a bump now, and she cursed him. He really wanted to kill her with food.
After the meal, Daniel instructed Kia to take a shower while he fetched a fresh outfit for her. She obeyed him, and after the shower, she returned to the room to find the clothes neatly folded on the couch. They were clothes she loved, not her usual attire as the president's daughter, but something she had always hoped to wear as a simple girl.
As she reached for the clothes, she was about to remove her towel when the door suddenly opened, startling her. Daniel entered, and Kia remained still, not turning to look at him. She knew that no matter what she did, if he wanted to stay, he would.
She stayed frozen in place, wondering what he was doing. Soon, she felt his presence behind her, his fingers tracing her shoulders, his breath caressing her neck, making her hair stand on end. Her lips parted, then pressed into a thin line as he sniffed her.
"Should I help you?" he asked, his voice low and husky. Kia shook her head, but before she knew it, he pulled the towel, letting it fall to her feet. Her body was now exposed, but Kia wasn't used to this kind of vulnerability, no matter how many times he had seen her naked. She tried to cover herself, but he gently took the clothes from her hand and slowly helped her dress.
Kia had thought he would do something else at first, but he genuinely wanted to assist her. As she sat on the bed, he helped her put on her shoes. She bit her lip, feeling a sensation she couldn't ignore. What had she been thinking? Yes, she was scared and didn't want to do it with him, but her body was anticipating his touch. It was as if her body was burning, and his touch cooled it.
