As they arrived at the heart of the forest, it was slightly dark and had more trees than other parts of the forest. Kia couldn't help but think that if he wanted fruits, he could have gone to get them from other parts of the forest and he could have gone alone. Why bring her along? But anyway, since she had plans to escape, she wouldn't hold it against him.
Yes, once she got in danger for not listening to him, but this time around, she wouldn't listen, not because she had forgotten the lesson, but because Daniel was the danger now. She needed to head back home, and he knew that, but he never even looked panicked about staying in here. Rather, it felt like he enjoyed it.
"Daniel, are we almost there? I'm really tired now," Kia cried out. But the man didn't listen to her or stop for a moment, and when he did stop, she didn't notice and bumped into his back, knocking her forehead. "Ouch..." she cried out, taking a step back while rubbing her forehead.
Daniel turned and noticed her painful expression. "Next time, watch where you're going," he said in a low voice, but Kia felt he was angry and didn't dare look up. "If only you hadn't stopped abruptly," she mumbled under her breath, but he heard it, and his expression turned stern. He knocked her forehead, and Kia cried out, wanting to push his hand away, but he held her hands.
"Don't do that, honey," he teased with a smile, but Kia fumed. "Didn't you say we were going to look for fruits? It's been hours," she complained. He didn't pay attention to her complaints and rather asked, "Are you hungry?" His face was a bit closer to hers. Kia nodded with an angry pout.
"I'm hungry, very hungry," she replied, not looking at him. She didn't realize Daniel had a naughty smile on his face. "You're sure you're hungry," he asked once again, and Kia, not wanting to repeat it and feeling irritated, looked at him and snapped, "Of course, I'm hungry, and I want to eat right now. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be starving. Should I eat you then?" she said, glaring at him.She wasn't even realizing what she was saying ticked as something else in the man's mind. It was just her innocent declare.
Though half a minute later, she realized there was something wrong with the way Daniel looked at her. "You..." she was tongue-tied. "Honey, you're hungry, I will satisfy you," Daniel said, and hearing his words, Kia took a step back. "You...you pervert," she yelled, and without knowing how or how much strength she had used, she punched him on the nose.
She was shocked at the result. Although his stamina was so good that he didn't move, she noticed a red liquid flowing out of his nostrils.
"What the...isn't he very strong? Why is it that just a weak punch made him bleed?" Kia thought, starting to back away as she felt Daniel's gaze on her, his eyes fixed intently on hers.
She thought he was going to hit her and got so scared that she backed away from him as fast as she could. Before she could go far, Daniel pulled her back, muttering under his breath, "You've gotten quite strong." He held her in his arms, and Kia shivered.
Although he was holding her tightly at first, his grip soon weakened, and Kia felt like his weight would soon press down on her. And just as she felt it, his weight bore down on her, and since she couldn't hold him, they both fell to the ground. Kia didn't even have time to react.
Kia struggled to speak, "Hey... could you get up?" She pushed him away, but he was too heavy. With a surge of adrenaline, Kia finally managed to roll him onto his side. She sat up breathlessly, her fists clenched in anger. "You bastard," she hissed, but her anger was short-lived. She noticed his eyes were closed, and his chest rose and fell with slow, steady breaths.
"What the heck?" Kia thought, shocked. "He really fainted from a simple punch. What a weakling." She stood up, her anger reigniting. "You're always bossing me around and teasing me, but it turns out you're a weakling yourself. Hmph! From today onwards, you won't bully me anymore."
Kia turned to leave, but as she walked away, she couldn't shake off the feeling that she had left someone behind in the heart of the forest. She tried to distract herself by singing, but the guilt lingered. Eventually, she couldn't take it anymore and stomped her foot in frustration. She turned back, retracing her steps.
When she returned to the spot where she had left Daniel, she noticed he was gone. A frown creased her forehead. Had he left? Was he just pretending to be unconscious? "What an asshole," she muttered, turning to leave again.
Just as she did, a snake slithered into view. Kia's eyes widened, and she swallowed hard. "Oh, my bad luck!" she cursed. The snake began to chase her, and Kia took off in a sprint. Her heart racing, she ran as fast as she could, but the snake was relentless.
Just when she thought all was lost, she tripped and fell. As she looked up, she saw Daniel groaning in pain. He had killed the snake, but not without getting bitten. Kia's eyes widened in horror as she saw the snake bites on his hand.
"Oh God!" Kia exclaimed, rushing to his side. Daniel had tied a cloth around his hand, trying to stem the spread of the poison. But he was getting weaker by the second. As Kia held him, calling out his name, Daniel's eyes fluttered open, and he gazed at her hazily. Then, he passed out, leaving Kia in a state of panic.
"Oh my God! Hey, wake up! Don't scare me like this!" Kia cried out, her voice trembling with desperation. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she gazed at Daniel's lifeless form. The thought of him dying and leaving her alone in the forest was unbearable. Panic set in, and she begged him to wake up.
"Please, wake up! I'm begging you!" Kia's words poured out in a desperate plea, her pride and animosity towards Daniel forgotten in the face of her fear. She had never imagined that she would be crying for the man she had grown to despise, but the prospect of losing him was too overwhelming to bear.
