Julian Bai looked at her cold eyes, where a hint of panic flickered, and he let out a slight hum. "What do you think I'm going to do?"
Grace Gu was momentarily at a loss for words; it seemed she had never won an argument with this man. However, she wasn't particularly keen on exploiting this natural advantage, as she wasn't someone who liked to talk too much.
"When I go back, throw this skin off me." He held her waist with one hand while the other tugged at her light blue dress.
Grace Gu frowned slightly. In truth, her outfit today didn't resemble that woman's attire very much; although they both wore light blue, the styles were vastly different. She didn't think he could dislike her just because of one dress.
"This was bought by Emily; I need to return it," she stated honestly. She was no longer the naive newcomer in this world and knew well that this long dress was quite valuable.
Julian Bai replied unhappily, "The Gu family won't care about a dress. I'll repay the favor for you."
His words left her feeling somewhat speechless, but she didn't argue back. Just then, he slowly said, "You just called my eyes colored—how are my eyes colored?"
Seeing his serious demeanor made Grace Gu pause for a moment; surely he wouldn't cling to this question endlessly!
"It was just something I said casually. Do you really need to corner a young girl until she's almost crying?"
If he hadn't nearly made Emily cry, she wouldn't have spoken up. After all, she wasn't someone who liked to draw attention to herself—especially not in such an unfamiliar environment.
"I didn't know my little Grace had such a kind heart," he gently pressed his forehead against the tip of her nose as if surprised that this woman could consider others' feelings.
Grace Gu pushed against his hard chest slightly towards the side. "Aren't you going back?"
She hadn't missed that woman's slightly disappointed gaze earlier; though unclear about their relationship, it was evident that they were not merely acquaintances from a pleasure house.
Upon hearing this, Julian Bai moved away from her slightly and whispered into her ear: "Just wait for me obediently when I get back."
As if worried Grace Gu might not understand his implication: "In bed."
He paid no mind to how red her face had turned and lightly tapped on the partition beside them; it quickly lowered down: "Have Aunt Lin prepare some late-night snacks for Miss."
"Yes, Young Master Bai."
Then he walked slowly towards the car and gently closed the door behind him.
Grace Gu's expression changed slightly after they drove off not far away; under the neon lights, her pale complexion appeared even more colorful.
Secretary Yan watched her and quietly asked, "Miss, are you alright?"
Grace Gu suppressed the discomfort within and softly replied, "I'm fine."
Meanwhile, as they sped along, Julian Ying observed Julian Bai walking in from outside and found an empty spot where they could sit down together.
Though the moonlight was beautiful, neither of their expressions looked particularly charming. Eventually, Julian Ying spoke softly: "Is she the woman you've been keeping outside?"
"Very pretty," she added quietly.
Before Julian Bai could respond to that remark, she suddenly threw herself into his arms with a choked voice: "Younger than me... prettier than me..."
