Chapter 16 - Chapter 16: Come With Me

Julian Bai did not respond to him but turned to Grace Gu, noticing that she had her head down and looked displeased. He coldly said, "Don't let your girlfriend cling to my woman in the future; this isn't a place for her."

His tone was icy, and Qi Yu showed no signs of discontent, nodding slightly. "I will remind Emily."

"Just remember that," he replied, then suddenly grabbed her wrist, intending to pull her away. Grace Gu frowned in displeasure. "Emily is drunk."

Implying that she couldn't leave the intoxicated Emily Gu with a man—even if that man was her boyfriend—after all, Emily had come out with her, and it wouldn't be right to leave her alone here!

Her words caused both men to pause slightly. Julian Bai emotionlessly remarked, "She probably wishes Qi Yu would sleep with her; you don't need to worry about it."

Although he whispered this into Grace Gu's ear, Qi Yu's gaze darkened momentarily. Julian Bai had never been one to consider others' feelings. Seizing the opportunity while Grace Gu was momentarily stunned, he pulled her toward the second floor.

As soon as they opened the door to the private room upstairs, a strong smell of alcohol hit them. Grace Gu tightened her small hand slightly before gradually relaxing it again.

"Go over there!" He pointed to a secluded corner for her to sit.

Grace Gu didn't look up; she simply walked over and sat down without glancing at anyone in the room.

Everyone stared at this unexpected guest with wide eyes; after all, their boss had returned shortly after stepping out with a woman, which piqued their interest. Many who were in the know shifted their gazes toward Julian Ying.

He silently returned to his previous position in the middle of the group, indicating his status among them. Beside him, Julian Ying's expression also darkened slightly.

Ross Mo sensed an awkward silence in the room and exchanged glances with his childhood friends until everyone finally regained their composure; only then did he breathe a sigh of relief.

Grace Gu watched the lively scene around her; all she could do was count time on her fingers and calculate when he might let her leave.

Just as laughter became an unshakeable demon in her mind and she felt like breaking her fingers from counting too much, a glass of cocktail appeared gently before her.

She looked up slightly and was surprised by who it was: "What are you doing here?"

"Have a drink!" He sat down beside her. Watching as she took what he offered with increasing warmth in his smile.

"Thank you for earlier. By the way, I still don't know your name?" She lifted her face politely smiling; however, that smile appeared differently enticing in others' eyes.

Especially in Julian Bai's gaze where danger seeped out without restraint from his body. Beside him, Julian Ying also turned towards them.

Jack Helian shook his head: "It's nothing serious; aren't you thirsty?"

Noticing that she held the wine glass without drinking from it seemed oblivious to others' stares as he asked again with gestures that were somewhat intimate.

Grace Gu smiled faintly back at him; this person seemed quite warm-hearted.

As they chatted slowly, Grace Gu found Jack Helian appeared knowledgeable about many things. His movements remained gentle yet sometimes she noticed a slight flush on his ears.

He resembled an innocent neighbor boy—that was Grace Gu's sole impression of him. Although unclear about his identity, such amiability was indeed rare.
