Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Hey Girl, Let’s Have Some Fun

As time passed and the drinks kept flowing, Emily Gu suddenly stood up. "Doesn't he like actresses? I'll show him that I'm far better than any actress."

While Grace Gu was still trying to make sense of it all, Emily Gu had already slipped into the dance floor, swaying her body to the fast-paced rock music. Watching her having a blast made Grace Gu's heart tighten; she hoped nothing would go wrong.

At that moment, several rough-looking guys began to approach Grace Gu. Her mind was solely focused on Emily Gu, so she didn't notice the predatory gazes directed at her.

Just as she realized what was happening and tried to move away, a red-haired guy with a mohawk blocked her path with a lewd grin. When she got a good look at his face, it was almost enough to make her gag.

What an absolute creep! From afar, she thought he had an impressive physique. But now that they were face-to-face, he was downright stunning in an unsettling way.

The other guys around him wore similar expressions of lust; they were clearly ready to pounce. For such beauty, they'd be willing to lose ten years off their lives!

"Could you please step aside?" She frowned and said coldly.

"Hey there, why don't you have a drink with us? We'll let you go afterward," another guy with yellow hair chimed in, his gaze even more brazen as if he wanted to rip her clothes off right then and there.

She couldn't be bothered with these clueless fools and attempted to leave through another route when the yellow-haired guy grabbed her arm forcefully. "Come on, give us a chance!"

She bit her lip harder and furrowed her brow deeper. The hand resting on her arm made her feel nauseous, but she couldn't pull away from the thug's grip.

"If she doesn't want to, why force her?" A pleasant male voice drifted over softly yet carried an undeniable warmth.

The thugs quickly recognized that this young man wasn't ordinary; however, he was just an eighteen or nineteen-year-old boy—what could he possibly do? Besides, with beauty before them, they weren't inclined to back down.

"You should just stay out of this! What do you know about our business?" The mohawk guy sneered as if he were the leader of the group.

"I may not know much about your affairs," he replied with a smile that felt like spring sunshine. "But this lady was just sitting with Emily Gu. Aren't you worried about Emily Gu?"

At the mention of Ethan Gu's name, fear flickered in their eyes. Grace Gu herself was curious about this person whose name seemed known by everyone across various circles but whom she'd never seen before.

"Let's go," the mohawk guy gritted his teeth and said to the reluctant yellow-haired thug who still held onto Grace Gu's arm. Though unwillingly released from his grip, he dared not resist too much.

Feeling his hold loosened up immediately allowed Grace Gu to pull away and step aside while watching them retreat slowly.

Once they disappeared from sight, she smiled at the young man who had come to her aid earlier. "Thank you for your help."

Jack Helian returned her smile but there was a hint of shyness in his otherwise clean expression—a stark contrast from how composed he'd been while dealing with those ruffians moments ago.

"I didn't do much; I just used someone else's name to scare them off," he spoke quickly as if worried that Grace Gu might misinterpret his intentions.
